If a professional mma fighter is rocked (Genki was primarily mma) they automatically go for a takedown (out of instinct even if it isn't allowed).

If you don't believe me watch either Kid's or Kawarjiri's fights at the K-1 Max Final 8 tournament.

A pro fighter never runs when rocked, it's always either cover up, or if they have an mma background it's a takedown.

You must not know the difference between showboat-running and running-away. Sudo clearly was running away cause he was rocked bad. He wasn't showboat-running cause if he did then he wouldn't have crashed against the ropes. Compare this running with the ones he did against Kohi and Kraus...completely different.

I think that it was an attempt at showboat running, but he wasn't coordinated enough to pull it off. He wasn't running because he was scared and trying to get out of there.

I just don't think he tries to measure up to the typical K-1 standard fighter... else he wouldn't be Genki Sudo! He lacks in use of torso kicks and punching combos. He tends to chop at opponent's legz & jab a lot, maybe every now and then use a push kick. I see he takes it easy in every match.
