@MegamanNG him being more successful in later seasons had very little to do with his marriage to rita. destroying the thunderzords was really all ritos fault. zedd getting kimberlys power coin was more of kats fault, & destroying yhe machine empire well that was a sneak attack. zedd couldve done most of these things without rita. without rita, zedd made the evil side more serious, he destroyed the dinozords, killed the green ranger, brought in serpentera etc.

He then tried altering the timeline but eventually was driven into a dimension outside of time by the Omega Ranger and a few others.
Resurrecting Lord Zedd would be the most insane move Saban could make. But consider that if they adapt Gokaiger, there's a possibility they can do something like that since Gokaiger had a gimmick where they would borrow (or was it steal, I dunno) the powers of previous Sentai teams. Thus this leave open the possibility of alot of characters potentially returning or at least making some form of cameo.
Beside, its cool and thats the only reason required for it to happen!

@TheIceMurder I am around the age of people who watched Lord Zedd when he was on (I am 26 now) . It wasn't so much the kids all of my friends loved him but a lot of the younger kids parents didn't think he was appropriate for kids roughly 8 years old. Same thing with invader zim. Kids loved it, parents loved it to but parents with kids didn't and thought it was too adult in nature so they had to let it go
It's getting tiresome to keep hearing people complain of Zedd being made goofier post-marriage, especially with the obvious evidence that he did a hell lot better as his less serious self. Goldar would've kidnapped the now good Zedd and bring him back via Evilyzer, I think.
Though that might be just what Funaro thought of how to bring Zedd back, I don't remember it clearly.

Wizard should have included this guy in their list of the 100 greatest villains of all time. But somehow the taunting Frenchman form Monty Python and the Holy Grail made the list.

Thats basically what happened, he was epic during his debut episodes but parents bitched about how he was too scary and too evil for a kids show so they had to toned him down to a piece of crap.

i have a question why wasnt zedd in the anniversarty team up instead of thrax? when i saw once a ranger i was sad that ot wasnt zedd in the story hos son was more of a joke then zedd was besides of zedd had the abilaty to shrink people like he shrunk rita why didnt he dhronk the rangers if he hated them so bad? he coulda said get there traveling vehicle goldar im sending the rangers across the galaxy then in 2011 the rangers return and be like ots morphin time saban is now on nickelodeon:)

Parent's actually COMPLAINED that there pussy ass kids were afraid of Lord Zed an that he was ''to evil'' at the beginning of the 2nd series... So they lightened him up, then got him married to Rite an turned him into a joke.
He fucking owned at the Beginning though, But I also love Rita she was a Classic in her own way... don't even know or remember any other Villains but these too

@mavrickindigo Turns out, he beat Tommy-- who is in-universe the GREATEST POWER RANGER EVER (I'm not even kidding)-- without breaking a sweat... this was back when Tommy was the White Ranger, and in his prime.

@Missioneer While of course parents complained, it didn't really matter as he would've lost anyway. Toning him down was the best option and would've happened, even, if parents didn't complain.
He was competent, yes, but the show would make him look like a moron anyway.

@Asssssss0 the more and more i look back on the idea to tone him down....the more and more i approve. I personally always liked Ritta and i thought they made a good team (albeit a lil goofy). However Zedd never lost his touch of bad ass and evil...infact, he did most of his damage while teamed up with Ritta, even traveling to the command center (an epic moment).

Lord Zedd is the best villian. He had no mercy, ordered his minions around, punished those who failed him, crushed his enemies, held the world by its throat, and he looked like he had no skin!
