  • So I came across your video RonnieBoy . Did the same thing u showed on your video. When I cranked the engine once more it cranked right onn.. Running smooth now. the problem was that i was lining up the wrong marks on the bottom gear. So, Thank You very much for the video . It helped me alot///

  • I did the timing belt & water pump job on my 1999 Toyota Camry. I was having problems when I put back the timing belt. I would start the engine but it was shakey & it was making a small sound inside the engine. It didn't want to speed up it's revolutions as I gave it a bit of gas.

  • good vid the old toyotas are easy to work on.

  • can I fix the timing without taking the engine apart? thx

  • On all imports, a half cup of PURE maple syrup added to the oil will give you an extra 5000 miles between oil changes..just another thing the big oil companies don't want you to know.

  • @jjc032681 Jackass

  • @jjc032681 Jackass.

  • @jjc032681 why dont u drink the fuckin maple syrup u half wit CLOWN

  • @tistansnake3 Whoa! Calm down buddy. It's a joke. If you need to talk, I'm here for you..

  • @jjc032681 lolz your funny

  • just loosen tensioner guide roller fractionally till belt loose enough to remove. dont touch or rotate anything else.

  • If the old timing belt is intact, I like to take a silver or white paint pen and mark the old belt to the top of a gear tooth on each gear cog. I then match the old belt, tooth for tooth to the new belt and mark the new belt with dots to correspond with the old belt. This way you are never off a tooth and don't have to rely on case marks on the engine.

  • @JunkmanJim ,ooh probably not a good idea unless you know for a fact that the old belt hasnt jumped one tooth,

  • @Marksmanbbs

Marking the old timing belt to the cogs works good for an interval change on a good running car. If it is running bad, then you are correct, the old belt should not be used as a reference. If the belt has jumped a tooth, it will be running like crap or not at all. Best to move the old belt back to position and check for bent valves before going any further. Rebuilding a head sometimes causes blow by in worn cylinders, often a good used motor works better on a high mileage car.

  • thanks for the great tip .... it makes it 10 * easier good video too ...thanks

  • I actually purchased this DVD off his Ebay site for my toyota...gotta say it was excellent and I highly recommend it. It gives a lot of inside tips that only mechanics know.

  • Hey that was a great tip...thanks!!!

  • can you change the tim

    ing belt without taking motor

  • What year Camry was this?

  • I did the same on twin cam 3.0 mitu engines, always right on.make sure you remove sparkplugs and rotate engine a couple of times, recheck cam timing[belt position]before you put in all back together.1 tooth off will produce poor engine performance.

  • @inagod

hey could being a tooth or more off cause an engine knock and could the knock come from the waterpump its a loud knock that gets faster with rpm

  • @gympvox My girlfriend ran on the stock water pump until just over 200,000miles when the pump started knocking. And now i think her oil pump went out. save yourself time and money. if you fix one, fix the other too.

  • Very nice tip with the prevention of extra slack! Now I know!
