For me, this piece reminds me very much of Koussevitsky's double bass concertos as well as the Bach Cello Suites. Nice composition, and good playing. Keep it up :)

Although it sounded a little bit too... rough and... agitated, I don't know how to explain it. The evolution between pianos and fortes were too quick, and the vibrato was too exagerated for my taste. But hey, you are fucking awesome. 5 stars. I'd give you 6 if I could.

You can always go to a violin shop and rent one. I have a half size one that I am renting for 50 dollars a mo. Usually they are 80-100 dollars but given the economy now you could talk them into giving you a lower rent fee.

Why don't you try a Laborie endpin? It could really help your posture, you wouldn't have to be so bent over while playing in the upper register and it would probably be more comfortable. Great playing btw.
