To say that non American NATO troops are only stationed in the North is ridiculous. Both Canada and Britain have large contingents of troops in Kandahar and Helmand, two of the most violent Southern Afghanistan provinces. The Netherlands and France have also had large numbers of troops in these area. Being from Canada I can tell you that our current commitment in Afghanistan has strained our forces seriously. The US is one of the only countries that can sustain long term troop deployment.

I work for Airtran and I can tell you that what you reported that happened on that flight was not correct. I don't want to say what happened bc I do not have all the facts, but I know it was definitely not a passenger that couldn't speak english. A lot of scary things happened that are not being told.
