The only way UHC could work in the US is if it was funded through taxes on junk food and cigarettes, but it will never happen because responsible health is antithetical to the industry's bottom line.
Standing up to lies on health care would only out Obamacare for the stinking pile of pork and handouts that it is. Anybody who doesn't see the inherent corruption of a policy which forces citizens to buy a monopolized good, then severely rectricts their buying constraints to disallow purchasing according to personal risk, needs to leave the country ASAP. Anyone who clings to the myth that Obamacare does anything but entrench industrial interests is blithely ignorant of the facts.

Later, Kennedy regretted not signing on with Nixon's plan. Old age helped him understand how FAR along our country could've been had practicality superceded perfection! So very SAD!

What I've been trying to say is that I'm on the government-run program Medicare, and all is good. Have only had one problem and it was the fault of a clerk in the doctor's office. Otherwise, smooth sailing. Being on private insurance HMO was a nightmare.

A friend of my wife lived in Britain and WORKED in the medical field. When it came time to have a surgery(woman's issue)after waiting 6 months on a list she booked a flight to South Africa and had the surgery done their! Again, WTF??!! You expect us to go to that type of health care?? BS!!!!

Quality, Affordable healthcare isn't what you are going to get from the Government. What you will get is increased costs, decreased benefits, increased taxes and, by the time they are done, no where else to turn once they have succeeded in putting the private insurance companies out of business, which is precisely their objective!
