I've never cared for a singer songwriter so much in my life:) I own all his cd's went to three of his concerts.. Listen to him almost everyday:) thanks Ron for being such a big part of my music journy...
The addition of the sax and trumpet makes this version a pleasant listening experience. Reminds me the way Van Morrison used horns in his legendary Moondance album.
I was in Chapters bookstore on two different occations as well as different stores, and this song was playing. I had a feeling it was Sexsmith, but I wasn't sure. I think I like this version better than Feist's, and I love Feist's.
You probably know that both lyrics compliment each other, as opposed to one interpretation vs the other. It's a very sweet thing to interpret both songs in this way as Sexsmith sings it "She's my Brandy Alexander" and Feist sings it "I'm his Brandy Alexander." A duet must be recorded!

@pomomonkey
i might like this version better, as well.
although I was addicted, actually, although I'm addicted to Feist's version, this one has so much feeling, and seems more "real" than Feist's.
