Hermits are not nasty people. They just don't like being pulled into a large crowd. People might call me a hypocrite because I work two jobs, and I work closely with others as a team player, and I contribute to the work place.

But something happens to me when I get home. The Hermit side of me switches on, and huge crowds really annoy me. People grabbing chips, stuffing their faces in front of me just goes through me. And even family get-to-gethers, I often do not stay as long as others.

I am looking to be a hermit. I really love solitude. Life is too busy, and shallow and people are awkward. I like to learn from these people, although talking to so people online feels busy to me.

Life is too busy, and Sales People annoy me the most. I had over several health insurance people nagging me to buy their services.

I just want to be left alone! I don't mind working with other people, but when I get home I just want as little contact as possible. I prefer rural, low populated areas.

That's just me. I'm not anti-social, but my type of fun is with a dew people--not a crowd.

@pluto4847 - no, you aren't intruding. I prefer it when people write in. Sales People are really irritating. Being a receptionist I get loads and they are awful. They all assume we want then. I need to be alone particularly as we get really awful rude guests at work, even at 8am!

I still go to work, and at work I'm just like a more sociable person, but the line stops there. Most of the time, if its like 4th of July I'll watch the fireworks myself.

People pester me and say, 'Ohhhh no, u must come swimming in our pool, and here eat some potato chips that we dug our grubby hands in.' Well I say, thanks but no thanks.

I don't like complete solitude. I do have friends, but I don't jump up and down like others do. I'm just quite, reserved, and shy. That's me.

Well for eight years living in a foreign country, I pretty much kept to myself.

My wife and I prefer solitude.

People have done some very terrible things to me. We had a little girl in 2006, and people were so insensitive when she passed away.

But when co-workers had new children, they'd always celebrate. Not one even came to a memorial service for my little daughter's funeral. Its like, they ignored me completely. So now I just like keeping to myself.

I tend to talk about death a lot as I am a Buddhist and I have given talks about bereavement to medical specialists. I have even had a bereavement website.My bf died and no one 'really discusses it'. It is almost as if I never experienced going the trauma of his cancer with him. When he died, I didn't talk to friends but professionals
