@j45998 I checked and found nothing anywhere about her being killed fo rexperiments. I know that claim was made about another ape astronaut and when I checked it was not so, he died nearly a year later from an infection (natural causes).

@drkstrong. I went to cygnet and shuffled through some dates. Earth bound CME's Jan 2011 had One near miss. Jan 2012 had 3 full hits and 2 glncing so far. Just in case anyone wants the info. Seems like a bigger start so far this year as far as earthbound.

Question for you Doc. I have been looking for data on earth bound CME's only. Month to month would be good. But I can not seem to narrow down were to find just earth bound CME charts or data/numbers. In hopes you or maybe someone else could post response to the question.

@citizen762 It is a lot more effort not only because I have to edit the movies and dialog to fit each other but there seems to be some distructive interference between the video recording software and the helioviewer output. I was up until 1 am last night trying to iron out the bugs.

@drkstrong I have a problem with sound on my YouTube page. When I have my movie maker program open (running) and I'm on YT, there is no sound on YT channel. I think this problem has to do with the sound on my web cam audio is in conflict or needing to update the web cam or movie maker program...Maybe you need to uninstall and reinstall or in need of updates, have you tried that? don't know what problem you're having, but I sure it sucks.

Having watched your videos for a while now I noticed that the northern hemisphere is 2 to 4 times more active than the southern, have you ever given any thought as to why that is?

The sun being thought of as basically homogeneous could this greater northern activity be from external causes?

@kgdies Yes, in fact that is one of the avenues of research I am persuing at the moment. The solar magnetic dynamo models generally assume that the generation of magnetic fields is symetric but that has not been the case for the last 3 solar cycles. Each has led off with the north dominent followed by a rapid takeover by the south. The reason is obscure (to me at least) but it might be useful in predicting the size of th eupcoming cycle - the more in phase they are the bigger the cycle.

So you don't think there are distant gravitational forces or other forces acting on the sun? I have read about gravitational waves "theory" that eminate from the center of our galaxy.

@kgdies If there were distant (or close) gravitational force on the Sun then it would be distorted as it is a fluid - we dont see any such distortion
