Fret markers are a reference point, if you know the neck you don't need them. if you had played guitar in your life before you'd know that? Since you aren't looking at the neck most of the time when you play (especially live) it makes no difference

@LT1HILLINGHOE Vaughan is good but he is blues and old school player... Brian Carroll is pretty damn good with what he does and his style. You should listen to his solo albums, I like songs like pride and joy, crossfire but it stops there he has no other good tunes imo and his solo's live were just like Hendrix, Clapton and every other blues guitar player from the 60s and 70s. Brian Carrol is more metal, experimental, progressive and funk... he plays lots more than that, not JUST blues.

I like Carrol a tons better as a guitarist than Vaughn but that's just my opinion, I like guitarists who can play more than one style, have can make you think, cry, or laugh from listening to their albums.
