  • Well done. Doing this on the 27th may, glad to be able to see it first. You made it look very easy.

  • looks fun

  • Nice Lycra view!!! :)

  • Nice work, have you tried Bar Lane at rowsley, thats a sweet climb, I love the buzz of a big steep climb. It's what it's all about. The triple faggots go home...!

  • Well done! Good riding!

Shame about the idiots in the cars...

  • I just did this climb this afternoon! Absolute hell, but managed to get up - just! I thought I was going to have to stop just after the second grit bin (around 4:00 on this video), but was cheered on by some walkers, so couldn't stop. Never been so happy to see a cattle grid!

  • @taffboyslim Did this again this afternoon, just to make sure it wasn't a fluke. Halfway up I promised myself that this would be the last time. I've got a triple crank, so went up on a 30:28, but I was standing up for some of the climb. It's worth it for the view (and the ride) from Mam Tor down into Edale.

  • @taffboyslim 30:28 and still needed to stand up! LOL I used to do it in a 42:21 (I was a bit younger back then though)!

  • Great effort with good speed. I rode up it 5 times yesterday on a 39 chainring and 25 sprocket. I am training for the fred whitton ride and needed to do some repeats to get my legs use to climbs. Did it no problem but on my 5th ride up I actually notice I was following my own trail of sweat on the floor. It was like a someone had poured water along the road! PS my speed was as low as 3 MPH whilst climbing!

  • what is the ave and max gradient on this?

  • @nfeht

    Think the sign says 25%

  • Great video I find this one of the hardest climb I have done in the uk and I have done wynrose and hardknott in the lakes its not the longest but the extreme steepness goes on for ages

  • went up it for the 1st time this sunday my reason for not making up on the bike i rode 45 miles to get to it ill be back to try again and i will beat it next time my mates think am a wip for not doing it

  • Hey - good luck Darron46 - it's always a challenge no matter how fit you are !

  • Nicely done. I ride up Winnat's pass most Saturdays and it's always tough. Somehow you can never quite capture just how steep it is on video :)

  • Insane. Hopefully I'll be able to do Winnats at some point on my current bike, i've tried several times, I end up walking most of it. My lowest ratio is 39 - 23 though, so not exactly ideal. I will try it again tomorrow.

  • Serious climb is Winnats. When I was fit and racing used to ride it on a 42 x 23. I'd probably die trying now though!

  • be much better with an engine!

  • Rode up Winnat's on Sunday. Still steep.

  • Nice view!!! the scenery is not bad either.I have cycled up winnats a few times myself.Earlier this year i was challenged to go up it,on my 53 tooth front 24 rear sprocket.I succeeded. But i should have filmed it.Will try again soon and record it for you tube.

  • I ache watching this...

  • Love the uphill traversing towards the end! Top video. I've just uploaded my descent of Winnats to complement your video!

  • now i've riden it this brings the memory of the utter slog & pain straight back. The gradient is far harsher than it ever looks on screen...just as my legs & especially my back !

  • am I looking forward to riding up this on Sunday on the Polka Dott Challenge ? mmmm yes & no ! at least i know whats coming (steep climb & loads of cars attempting dodgy overtaking)

  • fair play to you both
