Instead of trying to exterminate them with chemicals why not make a buck out of them by exporting them to England, where they are considered a delicacy? Also in Spain and Portugal they are highly prized. Maybe you'll be able to get rid of them by overfishing!

They are parasitic, so I don't believe they were looking for food.

This is one of the species that also occurs in west coast of Europe (from Norway to Portugal and Morocco). In fact, this one (Petromyzon marinus) is a very expensive "delicatessen" in some regions...

@rocktohell Yes , we are eating them in europe as well (22.35 = 1 KG in marinade) they are delicious. But iam not sure that its the same kind of Lamprey as we have , they have different mouth and size.
