@ImagineTheBlue Loony Left huh? Did you miss the part where I said ANARCHO LIBERTARIAN?!? That's as far RIGHT as you can get. Actualy Nationalism is a social "loony left" concept. When the kid finally has had enough, the door will be broken down and the kid will take what belongs to it. - Anarchy
I know I'm nit-picking, but in the Graphic novel (V for Vendetta) it was said that "they took away, the coloured people, the homosexuals and rebels" at the start of the "Strengh through Unity, Unity through Faith" Campagin. So why is there a black man at 3:20?? I know they needed extra's for the movie, but couldn't they have stuck true to the comic? It's not a racisim thing, it's a dedicated fan thing.
Well i think the movie was trying to portray the oppression of the minority during the "strength through unity, Unity through faith" phase and then obviously visual at 3.20 symbolizes the freeing of the oppressed. That kinda explains the appearance of black folks right at the end of the movie
that is a fair take I must agree. But when quote "took away, the coloured people" it meant to the human-ovens to be exterminated. It's like with the measels or endangered species, once it's been illiminated it's gone for ever. There's no coming back, not from oblivion.
We I am pretty sure we are treading deep into this topic but let me give it a shot at a historical point of view. When u do look back at history the oppressed are always confined to small pockets or regions restricting them from mingling with the rest of the society, that would literally explain "took away the coloured ppl". Wouldnt it?
The comic, the COMIC. Historicallly, and theoretically you may as well be right, but I'm talking about the comic!
You're right, let's just end this. Personally, I was never up for a discussion, nor a debate. Just being a nitpick about comic-silver screen interpretations.
They presented few things in the movie . It was like a bad retrospective of the comic book . V was an anarchist he was very politically inclined he was exactly like us anarcho-syndicalists of today they miss that from the movie too . Alan Moore is an anarchist too.
Alan Moore is a brilliant writer, and in some aspects, a god on his own turf. Did you notice any similaries between that of "V for Vendetta" and that of "Watchmen"? The novels, not the movies (I haven't seen Watchmen yet, so I can't judge/compare. It's on my to-do list)
I don't want to sound disrespectful but if you're a dedicated fan, you should know the differences between the book and movie. It's vastly contrasted. But the main thing is that at the end, deceased characters appear in this scene. You see many dead characters, so those black men are probably dead and killed by government which would be sticking to the storyline.
@cardstack in that scene the people there are the people that were killed by the government, thats why tehre is empasis on steven frys charcter and the black guys,
@cardstack remember they were showing people the government had killed in the crowd. The black guy in that scene was the same black guy in the scene when the fingermen were rounding up all the homosexuals.
@cardstack In the movie, this was as the uprising was occurring and the citizens actually fought back. There were others, such as the lesbian couple that were taken away before the timeline of the story, yet appeared in this final scene. It was a bit of a representation of damage being "undone", and a new tomorrow arising from the ashes of this revolution. There is a reason the black people were included there.
The scene at the end, where you see the various marchers taking off their V masks is supposed to represent all those who perisshed under the Fascist Norsefire regime. Hence you see- the Steven Fry character (Dietrich), the little girl who gets shot by Norsefire secret police agent earlier in the film, and also Valerie and her lover, executed for being lesbians. Hence it makes sense that there is a black man amongst the characters because ethnic minorities were also amongst those purged by Sutler
@januszpiershcionov hey dude that's an awesome interpretation! is that from the graphic novel? i never read it , i always wondered why they come back at the end. my own interpretation is that they were really working with people that have infiltrated the regime and so had to "die" in order for they're infiltrators to get deeper into the system and seem like they were loyal to it at the same time. like upper officials that gave orders to troops in stuff lmao idk but yea urs works a lot better...
The scene at the end shows some of the ghosts of the past returning to unmask themselves and witness the fall of the Fascist regime- (well that's my analysis anyway :)
My personal views are that there should ALWAYS be a "highway option". There should be a large mass of land WITH COAST that is unowned, ungoverned, and free. If you don't want to be a part of your government or society, you go there. YES it will become dangerous. Gangs will take over, but that's when FREE humans band together for their own safety, by their own rules, and of their own accord.
that would be good but so would unlimited wealth, maybe on the advent of intersteller travel and inhabitable planets but until then with so little room and an increasing population the chances of that happening are small, but hey im not god and for all i know it could happen tomoz
@Sinistalker listen, say there is an island that is free, unowned and ungoverned, how would you survive?without a government people would be lost, because to have complete freedom you have to eliminate the use of money.if you have no money, you have to resort to the basics of kommunism wich is that every one works and takes their share, wich might work, but not for long because there is always gonna be greedy people and wars and riots will break out.
You have got to be the saddest excuse of a brainwashed being I have seen in a long time. I pity you, but you need to understand that not all of us depend on the god kings that you believe are necessary as air, and we will not tolerate slavery forever just because you cannot cope with the thought of living without big brother guiding your every move. Your kind will die out quickly once true freedom is achieved, and it will be, (lol GHWB) and you have no one to tell you to breathe. Sad but it's so
@Punkdude561 what makes you think we need government to make money? There isn't a government on earth anymore that makes their own money, it's all done by privately owned banks. so that argument is null and void. Let me ask you something, do you do everything out of fear that the government will punish you? or do you do some because they make you happy? okay, now imagine the world without fear driven action, and just the ones to make you happy. Sounds better now huh?
@Sinistalker Why do gangs take over? I dont get that part. As if the government protects us from thugs. The news supports that basis, violence is all around us. that is not anarchy, that is capitalism.
@shelbywasonacid Popular millitias which the members of are chosen by the people replace the police and army and will protect the society from crime and war. Look at the history of Anarchist societies eg Anarchist Catalonia. :)
By the fact that Somalia has borders with its International neighbours and it has a government means it is not anarchist. Just because the government cannot control or run the country does not make it anarchist. It just makes the need for anarchy greater because the state has so obviously failed the civilian population.
Stop eating meat and other stuff other than fruits and vegetables. the govt. makes tons of money off of the thing we buy with our money. They also put so many chemicals in foods which causes so much physical harm to our bodies. People should also quit there jobs so that the govt. wont make any money off the labor we put in. money is the root to all evil and that the only thing keeping the govt. alive. So stop using money kill the govt...Plus its good for the enviroment so just go GREEN!!
Yes, but sadly even the communism of Marx turned out bad with abuse and all. Government just means mistakes, failures, governments creates more problems then they actually cure.
but how? give us things such as hospitals and schools? i supose the government did a bad thing when they gave car makers money so they could stay open so you could drive? what are governments? i mean when you think about it the government keeps order, without it your life would be alot worse then you think. but we do not have to worry because weather or not we tear down the governments of today some body will have to lead because some one always has to lead as long as some one can follow.
But we don't need governments for those things. We as a civilization can set up hospitals and schools. Trust the working class!
The government keeps order by oppressing people with fear. We are the masochists, and the leaders are the sadists.
Why do we want to follow? Why can't we as a people lead ourselves? If we want something done, we should be allowed to change it. We shouldn't have to vote for someone who might help us, you know?
because of the fact that we would just be making another government. also without that fear every one would start fighting over power, even more then they do now.
@jbrandona119 in my opinion the majority of humanity lacks the ability to not turn to greed. It is the instinct of many animals to look for a leader, and sadly most humans never seem to evolve past it.
@devol264 The government has given us less than 20% of the hospitals in the US, and the Department of Education was only recently established, causing a massive decline in our educational competitiveness with the rest of the world. And there is a reason that the automakers are failing. there are less than 250,000,000 licensed drivers in the US. there are almost 320,000,000 vehicles here. Do the math. Apparently GM couldn't.
@FuCuMao you dont understand now do you? i will not argue with the fact that our government is fucking us but without it we would have another government fucking us. think about something. the government it not the problem. they have given the people to much freedom and now they are using against the government. people are the problem. now the government is trying to gain more control every year and make is seems like we have more freedom and benefits when we are falling into their hands.
@devol264 What you're using here is called "Double Think", and even further still, in the most typicaly Orwellian fasion, "Freedom is Slavery." You can go and rot in a police state for the rest of your life if you want. But I'm going to make damn sure that I have at least ONE moment of freedom in my life, or die trying to get it. You're fucking with an unwaivering ideology inherent in every man. But some sad fucks have let the brainwashing steal thier zeal for TRUE freedom and REAL justice.
@FuCuMao well i know what TRUE freedom is and i also know what TRUE justice is. i will tell you though. humans will always need a higher power or they will need to be the higher power. we will never be equal so we can never have true freedom or true justice. the most you can do is use the governments laws against them and be smart.
ermm... on the contrary the extreme of socialism is Communism and communism's plan (as written) is it eventually eradicate the need of governments so think of socialism as the first step to anarchy
@Cbf3v3r also one in Palestine (before the UN put in Israel) and another in East Tannies (Before Portugal slaughtered them) However, Socialism and Communism are leftist policies, however, they are fiscal policies. They do not necessarily rely on the Social leftist principles of tyranny, though more often than not, they do come with totalitarian social views as well. However, the problem here is not economic philosophy, Red, Gold, or Green, We all support the black flag. Down with tyranny.
not nessicarily. we try not to invoke violence but sometimes we get pushed past our limits and act out violently. thats when we get our title of being chaotic insanity.
I realized only recently that the V-in-the-circle symbol in the movie is the anarchy symbol. Just turn it upside-down and put a horizontal slash through the middle. In the domino scene, even the colors are correct -- red and black. When I first watched the movie I didn't realize that V was an anarchist, but after a few times it sunk in. I wish they actually said something explicit in the movie. Serious anarchism needs more public exposure.
The movie was kind of a farce, you need to check into Allan Moore (the creator of the V for Vendetta graphic novel) for what the movie was SUPPOSED to mean. Instead the director/producers used it for their own means (like is usual :)
Serious anarchism DOES need more public exposure. The best we have right now is libertarianism. You should look into that.
I've looked into libertarianism and I find it lacking. Yes, it's better than totalitarianism, but it isn't completing the logical equation. If government is a bad thing, why keep it around at all? If it's evil, how is it still necessary?
I saw an interview with Moore on YouTube. He pretty much said it's about anarchy. Or did I not understand it right? Do you know the vid I'm talking about?
When you get down to it, pure libertarianism is something akin to anarcho-capitalism. But the Libertarian Party has taken stances that allow it not to seem so extreme on the premise that Rome wasn't built in a day - You can't tear down the entire establishment in one day and expect people to be okay with it.
It's going to take work. It's a process.
An anarchist system did work once upon a time in Iceland. That was before technology though.
I don't believe in tearing down the establishment in one day either. I'm an intellectual anarchist, not a revolutionary anarchist, though I don't rule it out either. It may have some place. But the best kind of shift should be peaceful, as that would be more likely to succeed. Public consciousness is the key.
Don't forget Spain 1936-39. That was anarchism too. And what does technology have to do with it besides having a larger community?
Technology makes anarchy harder because 1) the larger community. This makes it harder for everyone to agree not to have a system in the first place. The hardest thing about Anarchy - in my view - is that it can be hard NOT to have a group controlling, or attempting to control, everything else.
Maybe 'larger community' isn't the most appropriate term. It's really a collection of communities. The beauty of anarchy is that it allows each individual to live how they see fit. If some city WANTS to be ruled by a single person, well have at it, as long as it doesn't oppose that authority on me or my property.
I agree with the latter part of your statement entirely. I wouldn't say it's impossible, but it is the single greatest threat.
The book is A LOT better than the movie, b/c it does show V as an Anarchist. And does explain the difference between Anarchy and Chaos. Anarchy is essentially doing your own thing, being your own boss, living your life with out ppl telling you what to do. It doesn't mean there's no rules or order, just nobody pointing their finger at you telling you what to do.
what you wrote there was perfectly right, but you should explain more, because the first thing people tend to think when someone says "Anarchy is essentially doing your own thing, being your own boss, living your life with out ppl telling you what to do" is its complete chaos when it really isnt.. Good comment though . thumbs up.
V for Vendetta is possibly one of the most anti-revolutionary movies I've ever seen.
It totally subverts people who might otherwise get interested in class struggle by making them think they're revolutionaries for watching a movie made by a huge corporation.
Anarchists hate the movie, Alan Moore (author of the comic book) hates the movie, anyone with class consciousness hates the movie.
in real all people who say "fuck anarchy! how would world be without any law?" show that they wouldnt trust anyone without police and law..and yes its kinda true..anarchy would rock if there werent any war and all..i could accept politics and democracy too if there wouldnt be corruption, war and conspiracy..
most of you people dont even know whast Anarchism we anarchists do not advocate chaos we advocate a horizontal model in society rather then hierarchical we advocate industrial democracy and cooperative labor these kids now days just hear Anarchy and they think like WOOOW cool lets rebel wake up people its deeper then that
I really cant understand how goverments allow this film..any threat they feel they just "kill" it..I think there is no need of law when there is no crime and there is no crime when there is no poor and rich people
animals have souls but no one cares about hem ppl talk only about ppl so many animals are killed every day and no one cares about them..many many pets are found dead cause of road accidents law says anything about them..we all must be ecuall no one rulez this world .
u see...the freedom scared some people...but when we say freedom we mean freedom...living to the forest and no to the citys...living without money...living with no countrys and borders!let the peace rise!
you guys are stupid . do u no wht the world would be without some form of government? it would be chaotic. if there were now laws humanity as a whole would go to ruin. so stop tryin to be "different" or whatever just accept it. ur still jus a kid in front of ur computer actin like theres gonna be a big revolt or something its not gonna happen. not with u sittin on ur fat ass.
i think the world would be a better place and we will have hope and freedom i strongly believe if we have enough people the world will be great but everyone is too fucking scared of the government.
Anarchy believer all the way and theres no other way
If there was anarchy then there would be no order. Which means if you walk down the street and someone decides they want your watch then they shoot you and take it. Nobody stops them because with anarchy there are no laws to stop them.
If you want to live in a world like that you are extremely foolish.
Ok, maybe it is naive but anarchy believes in people .You are saying that only laws stops you from stealing/ killing? We are heading year 1984 , your precious govermant brainwash kids in school, kills during the war, keeps prisons (where are not only "bad guys" but guys who dont thing exactly as govermant wants, dont reamember good but there was 6 animal rights activists that were put in jail because the were protesting aganists "sick science").There are many examles but only 500 words.
Anyone who likes your watch can take it by shooting you because law is for ppl without money..ppl with money are over law so there is no mater about law its a matter about rich and poor ppl
you know who i hate? ppl who dont read descripitions for vids when they wanna know the names of songs, etc. to lastnameathan, its Riot by Three Days Grace..dumbass

I know I'm nit-picking.
cardstack 2 years ago 9
Well i think the movie was trying to portray the oppression of the minority during the "strength through unity, Unity through faith" phase and then obviously visual at 3.20 symbolizes the freeing of the oppressed. That kinda explains the appearance of black folks right at the end of the movie
nighrage 2 years ago
that is a fair take I must agree. But when quote "took away, the coloured people" it meant to the human-ovens to be exterminated. It's like with the measels or endangered species, once it's been illiminated it's gone for ever. There's no coming back, not from oblivion.
cardstack 2 years ago
@cardstack
We I am pretty sure we are treading deep into this topic but let me give it a shot at a historical point of view. When u do look back at history the oppressed are always confined to small pockets or regions restricting them from mingling with the rest of the society, that would literally explain "took away the coloured ppl". Wouldnt it?
nighrage 2 years ago
The comic, the COMIC. Historicallly, and theoretically you may as well be right, but I'm talking about the comic!
You're right, let's just end this. Personally, I was never up for a discussion, nor a debate. Just being a nitpick about comic-silver screen interpretations.
cardstack 2 years ago
They presented few things in the movie . It was like a bad retrospective of the comic book . V was an anarchist he was very politically inclined he was exactly like us anarcho-syndicalists of today they miss that from the movie too . Alan Moore is an anarchist too.
Menace3434 2 years ago
Alan Moore is a brilliant writer, and in some aspects, a god on his own turf. Did you notice any similaries between that of "V for Vendetta" and that of "Watchmen"? The novels, not the movies (I haven't seen Watchmen yet, so I can't judge/compare. It's on my to-do list)
cardstack 2 years ago
@cardstack
I don't want to sound disrespectful but if you're a dedicated fan, you should know the differences between the book and movie. It's vastly contrasted. But the main thing is that at the end, deceased characters appear in this scene. You see many dead characters, so those black men are probably dead and killed by government which would be sticking to the storyline.
codarkstarxx13 2 years ago
@cardstack in that scene the people there are the people that were killed by the government, thats why tehre is empasis on steven frys charcter and the black guys,
chewybar001 1 year ago
@cardstack remember they were showing people the government had killed in the crowd. The black guy in that scene was the same black guy in the scene when the fingermen were rounding up all the homosexuals.
WC760Mafia 1 year ago
@cardstack Alan Moore like black people too.
SpectralViral 1 year ago
@cardstack In the movie, this was as the uprising was occurring and the citizens actually fought back. There were others, such as the lesbian couple that were taken away before the timeline of the story, yet appeared in this final scene. It was a bit of a representation of damage being "undone", and a new tomorrow arising from the ashes of this revolution. There is a reason the black people were included there.
CptnCanuckShow 1 year ago
The scene at the end, where you see the various marchers taking off their V masks is supposed to represent all those who perisshed under the Fascist Norsefire regime. Hence you see- the Steven Fry character (Dietrich), the little girl who gets shot by Norsefire secret police agent earlier in the film, and also Valerie and her lover, executed for being lesbians. Hence it makes sense that there is a black man amongst the characters because ethnic minorities were also amongst those purged by Sutler
januszpiershcionov 2 months ago

Sinistalker 2 years ago 10
that would be good but so would unlimited wealth, maybe on the advent of intersteller travel and inhabitable planets but until then with so little room and an increasing population the chances of that happening are small, but hey im not god and for all i know it could happen tomoz

Vince1Rules 2 years ago 2
but how? give us things such as hospitals and schools? i supose the government did a bad thing when they gave car makers money so they could stay open so you could drive? what are governments? i mean when you think about it the government keeps order, without it your life would be alot worse then you think. but we do not have to worry because weather or not we tear down the governments of today some body will have to lead because some one always has to lead as long as some one can follow.
devol264 2 years ago
But we don't need governments for those things. We as a civilization can set up hospitals and schools. Trust the working class!
The government keeps order by oppressing people with fear. We are the masochists, and the leaders are the sadists.
Why do we want to follow? Why can't we as a people lead ourselves? If we want something done, we should be allowed to change it. We shouldn't have to vote for someone who might help us, you know?
jbrandona119 2 years ago 23
because of the fact that we would just be making another government. also without that fear every one would start fighting over power, even more then they do now.

@jbrandona119 in my opinion the majority of humanity lacks the ability to not turn to greed. It is the instinct of many animals to look for a leader, and sadly most humans never seem to evolve past it.
rainbowsixmaster1990 9 months ago
@devol264 The government has given us less than 20% of the hospitals in the US, and the Department of Education was only recently established, causing a massive decline in our educational competitiveness with the rest of the world. And there is a reason that the automakers are failing. there are less than 250,000,000 licensed drivers in the US. there are almost 320,000,000 vehicles here. Do the math. Apparently GM couldn't.
FuCuMao 1 year ago
@FuCuMao you dont understand now do you? i will not argue with the fact that our government is fucking us but without it we would have another government fucking us. think about something. the government it not the problem. they have given the people to much freedom and now they are using against the government. people are the problem. now the government is trying to gain more control every year and make is seems like we have more freedom and benefits when we are falling into their hands.
devol264 1 year ago
@devol264 What you're using here is called "Double Think", and even further still, in the most typicaly Orwellian fasion, "Freedom is Slavery." You can go and rot in a police state for the rest of your life if you want. But I'm going to make damn sure that I have at least ONE moment of freedom in my life, or die trying to get it. You're fucking with an unwaivering ideology inherent in every man. But some sad fucks have let the brainwashing steal thier zeal for TRUE freedom and REAL justice.
FuCuMao 1 year ago
@FuCuMao well i know what TRUE freedom is and i also know what TRUE justice is. i will tell you though. humans will always need a higher power or they will need to be the higher power. we will never be equal so we can never have true freedom or true justice. the most you can do is use the governments laws against them and be smart.

ermm... on the contrary the extreme of socialism is Communism and communism's plan (as written) is it eventually eradicate the need of governments so think of socialism as the first step to anarchy
RDSchley 2 years ago
That's....actually....only true in a way out, idealist sense.
Socialism is the opposite of libertarianism which is the closest thing to going toward anarchy. I think you have your facts a bit backwards.
Cbf3v3r 2 years ago
A state in anarchy actually survived, in Iceland.
There has never been a socialist or communist state that has made it more than a few decades.
Because those kind of states are not realistic.
Cbf3v3r 2 years ago
@Cbf3v3r also one in Palestine (before the UN put in Israel) and another in East Tannies (Before Portugal slaughtered them) However, Socialism and Communism are leftist policies, however, they are fiscal policies. They do not necessarily rely on the Social leftist principles of tyranny, though more often than not, they do come with totalitarian social views as well. However, the problem here is not economic philosophy, Red, Gold, or Green, We all support the black flag. Down with tyranny.

not nessicarily. we try not to invoke violence but sometimes we get pushed past our limits and act out violently. thats when we get our title of being chaotic insanity.
straightxedge76 3 years ago
no not at al, actulally anarchy doesnt even have to be achieved by a revolution or violent.
jorky15 2 years ago
I realized only recently that the V-in-the-circle symbol in the movie is the anarchy symbol. Just turn it upside-down and put a horizontal slash through the middle. In the domino scene, even the colors are correct -- red and black. When I first watched the movie I didn't realize that V was an anarchist, but after a few times it sunk in. I wish they actually said something explicit in the movie. Serious anarchism needs more public exposure.
empbac 3 years ago
V actually isn't an anarchist.
Cbf3v3r 3 years ago
I've looked into libertarianism and I find it lacking. Yes, it's better than totalitarianism, but it isn't completing the logical equation. If government is a bad thing, why keep it around at all? If it's evil, how is it still necessary?
I saw an interview with Moore on YouTube. He pretty much said it's about anarchy. Or did I not understand it right? Do you know the vid I'm talking about?
empbac 3 years ago
No I don't, but I'll have to look into it.
Cbf3v3r 3 years ago
You can find the vid in my 'Anarchism' playlist.
And what does technology have to do with it besides having a larger community?
empbac 3 years ago
Technology makes anarchy harder because 1) the larger community. This makes it harder for everyone to agree not to have a system in the first place. The hardest thing about Anarchy - in my view - is that it can be hard NOT to have a group controlling, or attempting to control, everything else.
Cbf3v3r 3 years ago

It doesn't mean there's no rules or order, just nobody pointing their finger at you telling you what to do.
cdowg187 3 years ago 5
what you wrote there was perfectly right, but you should explain more, because the first thing people tend to think when someone says "Anarchy is essentially doing your own thing, being your own boss, living your life with out ppl telling you what to do" is its complete chaos when it really isnt.. Good comment though . thumbs up.
