"Concordes! They were great planes! We used to call them "Cracked tubes of death!"

I think it was cut out of the C4 showing coming so soon after the first ever (and last) Concorde crash but it's on the DVD..

  • is it a problem that i wank to this?

  • @mrmungo97 yeah

  • i love the way he says "junglist mash-up"

  • Comment removed

  • corned beef sushi

  • I LOVE his hat.

  • ...you would take her along to a Junglist Mash-Up.

It was called Jungle then, not Drum and Bass, that came later.

  • and I went inter-railing through europe. It was very interesting.

  • huhh

  • "...hanging over him like an albatross"

  • Gas mask and a pound of tripe LULZ

  • big up for putting this together man! too funny!!

  • Isn't there another one where he talks about going everywhere by concorde?

  • @cdname47 yeah there's also one where he talks about what it was like before feng shui

  • Hugh smells of memories

  • He wrote The Day Today / Brass Eye!

  • @Destro7000 He wasn't the writer though he did contribute. He produced the day today and brass eye as well as alan partridge. He also wrote, directed produced etc the thick of it and in the loop

  • @pstm1 I know.

  • Thanks a lot for compiling these MisterSix. This was unforgettable comedy!

  • "It was very different...we never had sushi, I mean we had to improvise; so we would go to the fish shop and used to say 'don't bother frying it', or my mother used to make sushi out of corned beef".

  • Cheers MisterSix! These sketches are absolutely brilliant, now I can email this to all my friends. Every day.

  • Armando Iannucci is a genius

  • Hugh Cecil also appeared in the Rocky Horror Picture Show and an episode of The Young Ones, Sick. In The Young Ones he throws a brick at a woman's head and starts a riot.

  • @penchanskii I think I recently saw him in the 'audience' as an extra in 'The All New Alexei Sayle Show' show from '94. It's quite hard to tell if it's him but probably is... pointless info or what :)

  • This video just made me laugh scrambled eggs out of my mouth onto the keyboard - that's a first for me so thanks uploader.

  • Junglist Mash-up!

  • Classic - Thanks for the compilation

  • armando and morris are good friends.

  • Wasn't there a Feng Shui one where he said people putting their boxes in the wrong places made their businesses go bust?

  • "it was very funny.....for the first year"

why cant comedy be as funny as this all the time.....genius.

  • His demeanor and accent is just perfect

I particularly like the idea of a coin with Jabba the Hutt on one side and Queen Victoria on the other... I'm told Doctor Who has one...

  • cheeseburgers were a penny then!

  • "hugh smells of memories"

  • So Iannucci wrote all these lines and Hugh, what, was reading from a teleprompter?

  • Maybe he's remembering lines! If you can believe that.

  • Wasn't Hugh Cecil a professional actor? I'm guessing he remembered the lines.

  • @filmnet it makes absolutely no difference to me whether he was or he wasn't. he wass an extremely old man who played it perfectly

  • disrespectful wanker.

  • of course in that day we had to make our own entertainment. had to make do with the basic sky package

  • ahahaha gap year

  • I'm laughing senselessly at the deadpan delivery and sheer absurdity of this. Masterful.

  • LOL HHSHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • i love my grandad

  • grow up, you stupid cunt.

  • Hugh Cecil can also be seen in the background in several episodes of Dad's Army and The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

  • "To make it more like watching the cinema... we used to line up all the tellies, then turn out all the street lights and chew polystyrene."

  • Hugh Smells of memories..

  • there were still blackouts in those days,we used to get to school wearing infra red goggles.

  • in those days the internet was black and white.... lol! ...(actually black and green?) :-P

  • i like that chris evans until he dissapeared up his own ass!

  • love the sarcasm of huge when saying about chris tarrant saying his"we dont want to give you that"

hugh "it was very funny.....for about the first year"- cracks me up.

  • And if they said yes, you'd take her along to a Junglist mash-up. It was called Jungle then, not Drum 'n' Bass; that came later.

  • Fucking class vid

  • Iannucci... " I suppose it was very exciting in the Old Days, when new things came out..."

Love those dead-pan, polite,questions... the TONE and content is great!

  • hello hugh!!

  • knock her out and get her on crack lol

  • knock her up...as in impregnate....

  • Gotta love Hugh!

one day someone came in and said the high altitude bombing of Kosovo had been a limited success....so we all celebrated by killing an ostrich.

  • my favourites:

"You couldn't just jump into bed with a lady back then. You'd go along to her house and ask her parents if you could knock her up, and get her on crack."

"We never had Feng Shui in those days, so we put all our cupboards in the wrong place, and as a result all our businesses went bust. And that was the start of the great depression."

  • ahahahaha this is SO fucking funny!

  • Jesus I still piss myself at this, I've watched it dozens of times "We'd sing peter Andre songs and show off our pecs"

    R.I.P Hugh

  • Awesome!

  • whys the talk show dudes face all messed up in like 3:30-3:40?

  • Because he'd been getting shot at a wall three times a week in that episode.

  • i assume he got beaten up earlier in the episode. It's not a talk show though

  • "cheeseburgers were a penny then"

what a fantastic show-hail the hugh!!

  • "In those days, the internet was in black and white"

    haha

  • well. we used to sit around the piano...and play Peter Andre songs. Genius from a very underrated comedy classic IMO

  • "and later, we'll be showing you how to plant... jizzflakes!"

  • brilliant

  • Absolute class!

    10 on 10

  • Good work, MisterSix. Aaah . . . but what about, "<i>Well, we never had feng shui in those days, so we put all our cupboards in the wrong place. As a result, all our businesses went bust. That was the start of the Great Depression.</i>"?

  • That is possibly the funniest line in the history of our world.
