@rubikscube10111 Korean has an alphabet, so it isn't that hard to do. Chinese and Japanese have a lot of characters but they are not that hard to memorize (you only need to know about 2000 for Japanese, 3000 for Chinese). (And LOL... English letters are "symbols", too... they're just aren't so many of them. You still need to know how to spell words, though, and that takes a lot of memorization as well!)
Yang Haiying, your calligraphy is beautiful! I hope to someday write as beautifully as you! I just love how you make the strokes, thin and thick, thin and thick, continuously.
你好! Hi Haiying! I'm studying chinese and I'm intrigued about the way you write the character 快, especially the "heart" radical, since it is not the way I've been taught to write it. Is it one of the many variants there are in the Chinese writing? I would be very greatful if you did a video about character variants... Thanks for doing what you do!
Beautiful writing. I'm curious if anyone else is like me in finding one group of characters much harder to remember than another... Words like fire, field, fast or high, seem to make strong impression and their characters seem quicker to recognize.
Words like "with", "at", "until" on the hand I find quite difficult. To remember the character "geng" in the video I have to try and link it to something similar (like the character for history?) because I don't know what the meaning of geng is.
I agree - good luck with your learning. From my limited experience, I think the first hundred or so can be quite difficult, but it seems to slowly get easier as you have more characters in your memory to compare. It helps that it's fun too :)

@yanghaiying Hey, I'm learning Chinese for 1 1/2 years now and i can read the comparative :D
It's so sad, that we're learning the easier mandarin, not the traditional, therefore i only know 高.
I love chinese calligraphy, but I'm so bad in painting Hanzi :(

why your brush looks like a pencil? it still hard while ou writing, it really doesn't look as made by hair
seawolfenz 3 years ago
It is brush. Make sure the brush is not too wet, and write lightly. Then it looks like this.

yh - "fire water sun wood big" are easy for me - more complex characters are harder to learn but i just keep writing them again and again.
