No, to do a burnout, especially with a rather weak engine like that of a fifty year old chevy (It's friggin' sweet nevertheless), you set to Neutral, give it gas to... whatchamasay 5000 or 6000 revs then put into Drive. If it has manual transmission you put it in first gear, give it a lot of gas then release the clutch very quickly.

you should be able to do one. if it has a 57 265 small block, it has at least 260hp. the 56 55 has 180hp.
