the first day i used this, my hair looked so shiny and felt so silky. the second day, my hair looked almost too shiny. the third day, it looked like i forgot to take a shower. the fourth day, it looked like i poured grease all over the top of my head.
Lol this is hilarious! I'm Australian and living in the US at the moment. Keep seeing the aussie shampoo and outback australia adds on the tv. I can't believe the slogan is Add some roo to your do? what the hell? the accent is so fake! i looked them up and they are actually an american company! Have never heard of this brand in Australia. I agree with ZedAdSee, i also die a bit inside everytime i see this!
And I hate it the way they say "Aussie" sounds like fucking "Assy" fucking pisses me off. It's Aus - ie, not fucking ass - ie. Jesus christ they piss me off so much somtimes. So much for not being racist huh?!
Grow up, people! The video announcer is the one who said the name, not all the viewers of this video. Most people do pronounce it as "Ozzie" don't they? Even Americans?
idk but i use it and it works pretty good! i have a friend that has really frizzy hair and she used the wave one and now it's more curly than frizzy:)
You only use aussie products? I chance hair products every week because I heard this increases softness in your hair. I use different brands...Suave, Aussie, Pantene, etc. Do NOT USE that cheap shampoo simply called "Shampoo" that's sold at cheap stores. It is GROSS!!!
I fucking HATE how American's say "Aussie"... OSSIE! As extraqs said, it's pronounced OZZIE, you morons. You know? Ozzie Osbourne? The Wizard of Oz? Oz Squad? Stop saying OSSIE, you sound demented.
OMG - this advertisement is terrible - it's so cornball and stereotypical. Is it a spoof? I've never seen this 'product' advertised here on Australian television. It's obviously done in America as they cannot even pronounce Aussie - it's OZZIE (as in Ozzie Osbourne). The way the woman pronounces "Aussie" is generates the same reaction as fingernails on a blackboard!!!

yes it obviously a spoof of baywatch, and australians are not the target market, americans are. so all of you who are annoyed should just go watch some australian commercials and get a life.
The accent is woefully exaggerated and they get pronunciations wrong to the point I find it offensive. The beach stereotype is also quite cringeworthy.
I understand we seem to be a big selling point with Kangaroos slapped on snacks Koala's on drinks and Australia on shampoo's, but at least get it right.

3. If you are offended, why don't you go spend your valuable time watching something else... other than foreign TV ads that aren't even intended for you...
If you were paying any sort of attention you would have noticed I said 1 whole year ago that I'm an "Australian living in Canada" hence me seeing this ad and being a potential customer of the product. Obviously paying attention is too much to expect from you.
To all those people giving thumbs down to Australians that are baffled with this company cashing in on an exaggerated stereotype, grow up. The least they could do is pronounce our slang name for ourselves correctly.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
aussie is an american brand, and its not sold in australia. so obviously, its going to be pronounced the way americans say it. thats how marketing works...
You're wrong. Names should be pronounced the way the people living there want it to be pronounced and it doesn't matter if it's in an ad. The fact of the matter is, the voiceover is an attempt at an Australian accent, implying that's the way we speak, so the attempt should be as accurate as possible.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
actually you're the one who's wrong... on both points.
1. In America, we call Rome, Rome, not Roma. Aussie is an American product speaking only to an American audience... and isnt sold in Australia. marketing speaks to its audience, which you are not. No one cares if you are offended, because youll never be buying the product.
2. The *actual* fact is, the voiceover is done by a native Australian. So you couldn't be more wrong. Maybe you speak some kind of low-class australian dialect..lol
* Italian is a different language, so it makes sense that it has different names and is to be expected
* I am it's audience, living in Canada, remember?
If the voice is done by an Australian, she has obviously been told to be something we're not. I don't understand how you find this ok, you're essentially watching a lie. But since you're arguing the point you're arguing I'm sure you'll have no issues with me assuming you're a gun toting murderous American.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
aussies + brits speak different english than americans, obviously - different pronunciations and even word usage. American marketing uses American pronunciation.
Marketing is to a generalized demographic therefore the message is made to speak to the 99.9999% of the demographic, as opposed to just speak to 'Australians living in Canada.' Again, this is obvious to everyone but you.
The VO is Australian with no special direction. Since youre still arguing vs. facts, ill assume youre a troll.
Oh now you're telling us how we pronunciate are you? Thank you for enlightening me. And obviously you were at the recording of the voice over to have so much information on the lack of special direction she was given as well as the fact she is Australian. I was really foolish to argue with someone who conveniently has so much inside information to support his argument. It won't happen again.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
obviously i do have inside information, so its a good thing for you youve finally decided to stop embarrassing yourself with your stupid, uninformed comments.
And by the way, "pronunciate" isn't a word. "pronunciation" is a word, as is "annunciate" .. but there is no such word as "pronunciate". (At least not in America...LOL). You don't appear to be qualified to criticize the way others speak, so maybe you should think twice about doing so in the future.
There is no disputing the fact this is not the way we speak, a look around at the comments from Australians on this video proves this. Things like this lead ignorant Americans to believing we're something we're not, as does Paul Hogan and Steve Irwin, and that pisses us off. Get used to it.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
i know a lot of unbelievably great australian people... and i have a feeling most of them dont want or need you representing all of "them"
and the beautiful thing about "us" "ignorant" americans is that we could give a crap what anyone thinks.lol
for the record, the VO is also the australian female voice on every garmin GPS. so why dont you spend your time writing *that* company a strongly worded letter too, and leave the rest of us alone. i'm sure no one wants to continue reading any of this.
Steven Irwin is DEAD! Leave the man alone! And Paul Hogan? What's wrong with him? What about Hugh Jackman, Heath Ledger, Nicole Kidman, and Naomi Watts? Kylie Minogue? There is nothing wrong with being Australian. And people pronounce it different because people have different accents. It's one of the factors that makes people interesting and unique!
@ronggai that's what I keep telling everybody at school but nobody believes me! I say, "it's pronounces ' OZ-ZEE' not with the 's' sound, but like a 'z'". I have a friend who is Australian. By the way, please don't say that about Americans. Many are ignorant, but not all.
@ronggai Okay, I'm American. I know Australia says it with a 'z'. Does that mean I'm a "damn american" as well? And you don't see me running around saying your "prawns" is pronounced as "shrimp". It's a commercial, 99% of them are fake, and you choose this one to whine over? Please.
@aimster4560 Okay, this is comment was based on the flawed pronunciation of Aussie in this commercial. 99% of the comments here are about how they pronounce it and you choose this one, written THREE years ago to whine over? Please.
