The reason why people like the solo on "comfortably numb" and not on any Dream Theater song is because it was not about jamming it full of notes, just sounded great. Dude, this video lesson taught me so much guitar. What is particularly cool about it is the fact that Petrucci was really trying to teach cool and practical things about guitar playing and not just showing off how hard his solos were and how well he could play them. It is like watching a lesson from a master, who brings himself to other people's level in order to truly teach something.

@RRNG1 Well it sure ask a lot more work than just learning a tab but in the end it is a better way to practice since you're developping your music knowledge and technique. Since a lot of tabs are on ultimate-guitar, you could pick up a song or a solo and try to figure it out by yourself once in a while and maybe one day you'll figure out songs just by ear and be the one tabbing it.
