I had this game! It was very atmospheric and I liked it a lot. Unfortunately,I was really too young to fully appreciate it and to be able to solve the puzzles. Now,since I can't play it, I'm looking forward to read the book.

I still own this game, and cannot play it anymore cause it's incompatible with my OS...but I fond this game one of the funnest games i have ever played, even how tough it is for some people...me included cause i was never really good at math. thanks for sharing this. It brings me back.

Thank you for posting this. I just bought the game and played it after reading the 4 books. Before I knew this game existed, I tried to make a Rama level in Unreal Editor 2.0. I couldn't do it justice. No centrifugal gravitation and not enough space.

This is an awesome game.

to NIbor7301- Yes, the 3d graphics are impressive, but you can't get more real than a real person. They are using 3d graphics now and computer generated images because it is cheaper to produce. The clip we saw was made the same was as phantasmagoria and kings quest 6. Kings quest 6 cost almost $2 million to produce and required 500 people and actual voice actors from hollywood. This game uses real live people. This was a live clip. What you see now is drawn on a computer.

The technology of this game is so far ahead of the video games today that are produced on PS3 and such. The medical officer in this video is a real person, just like in phantasmagoria. They aren't using real people like they did when this game was made. The new computer generated human characters are less life like, and look like they are made of plastic. This is like watching a movie. The technology of these games is more advanced than the video games today. To bad Reberta Williams retired.

Who needs impressive 3D graphics when older technology can give you such an amazing experience?

Actually, it would be really nice if this game was re-released in real-time 3D (which was done with Myst). ASSUMING that the game world was kept the same.

If they did that, they could still use videos for the human characters (which was done with realMyst).

But yes, it's amazing what this game did with such primitive technology.

I'm using Dosbox with D-fend Reloaded. Make sure you habe a samplerate of 44Khz and blocksize of 8192 with prebuffer of 20. then you should have th same sound quality as I have.

Awesome video. I've been trying to get this game to run on my Vista laptop using DOSBox but to no avail. I really love this game. Maybe you have some advice? PM me if you're able to help.
