God I hated the original...being in the martial arts, i can say that the original sucks. Although "Peter Cetera - Glory of Love" was good times. This one seems more to my liking, can't wait to see it.

Yeah, the original, which dealt with issues of Japanese Internment camps where an adolescent literally grows up in front of you putting an older grieving and passing-out man to bed just wasn't good enough. Yeah, it was time to remake it with 12 year-olds fighting. Those issues that are so innate to adolescence: trying to fit in, asking out the girl, trying to find balance...well, they're much better when it's about a pre-pubescent young man definitely. That's really what you want.
