I can't help but laugh at the pro Ford tools saying they were surprised you managed to do this in a car with no poke. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it took the Blue Oval to add a supercharger to their V8's (current model) to make them faster than Holden & HSV. Also, is it the VY or VZ Maloo that holds the World Record for fastest production ute/pick up?
Either way, the fastest & most powerful Australian made production car is the HSV W427!!!

FPV cost less and FPV 335kws-5 Litres and W427-375kws from 7Litres!diff of 40kws they have 2 more Ltrs!..piss weak!.only 2 concept cars, 4 race cars exist, they didnt sell enough to keep making them. and W427- 12.8 in 1/4 .boss 335 12.5 on 1/4,powerful but slower?? and fleet makes most of sales for ford.
@danieljb89 The W427 project was not cancelled. They intended to produce 427 of them, but only ended up making 155 or something like that. FPV needs a supercharger, without it it would be making less power & therefore performance would drop off too. Also, I've never heard of a stock blown FPV pulling a 12.5 down the quarter. It sounds like nothing more than BS to me.
427 cubic inches & 7.0-litres is not piss weak. If HSV could tune it without the restrictions it would be over the 400kw mark.
@hsvsv8 its still a ridiculously overpriced car that hasnt really acheived anything. I dont mind FPV or HSV but Nobody is going to pay 120,000 fucking dollars for a car that is just a supercar wanabe that dosnt even have the performance specs of a supercar. The reason Ford or FPV don't do those type of cars is because they don't have the marketabilty or the world known product that Holden has. The Falcon is only available in Australia, whereas the Commodore (sedan & ute), Caprice & HSV's are available in the UAE, UK, US, China & Singapore & all of that was on the back of the Munro

They dropped off when the Munro started ageing, but the blown VXR8 Bathurst & now the Maloo have reinvigorated performance buyers over there.
Ford US are a lost cause, but problem for Ford Oz is the US will kill off the RWD Falcon due to wanting to create a "global" car. Their plummeting sales here isn't helping matters either.

At end of the day its UK Fords call. The way the car market is all over the world, everyone has one goal..Do better then Ford.

Toyota blew their opportunity to surpass the Commodore when they made the 200kW Aurion FWD only. If they had've made it RWD or even better, AWD, it would've been a massive seller.

You can benchtest engines, doesn't mean the engine HAS to be in the car, you will still get a readout on the kw/torque and you could determine which one is faster without even having to put it in the car.
Even in the car, the Ford engines always were quicker over a distance, bigger strokes, more torque.

No, I didn't, and the Ford V8's have Quad cams in them which could potentially make the block bigger (though I doubt it - even still, im not preaching about 8 cylinders).
