@dwarfamongthemidgets well no, the m249 has its place for a reason, not only the rof, if you tried continuously putting drums through an m4 and such like that you would eventually melt the thin barrel, the m249 and all support weapons have MUCH heavier barrels to handle the heat generated from all of that friction of hundreds of rounds being fired.
