The interface of nearly/all DAPs mp4nation sells is just shitty. The new "NaNite" is quite expensive and plays only mp3 and wma. Imo the only good thing about it is the battery life.
M8 RE 8GB is at 195 € as of yesterday. Maybe it is, altogether, slightly worse then the iPhone (I don't think so, but I can understand so. who does), but it costs less than 1/2.
As my M6 SP broke of bad treating, I consider buying this instead of a new M6 TS. It's just a bit more than 2x price...

She has had them for nearly 9 months now. 2xs she had to return one of the players and he sent her back players that were either scratched, cracked, and/or would not power own. NO! Mine is slow, always freezes, always overheating, the slim keyboard is very hard to type on and after a while it is almost painful to type on. The screen's backlighting is very sloppily done and hurts my eyes, and now the damn thing won't turn on, so I have to take it to the Apple store for a repair, again. Yes I do. :) I have the MacBook white Penryn model I bought on june 17, 2008 for $1,500 including the printer and apple care, it uses intel GMA X3100 integrated graphics, has a 2.1GHz Intel Core 2 Duoprocessor and came with 1GB DDR2 RAM, but I quickly upgraded to 3GB. It has a 120GB HD, running right now on 10.5.6 because I have heard many horror stories about 10.5.7
The M8 appears one of the better iPhone clones, certainly much better than junk like the A88. Great to see it's using a capacitive touch screen, rather than the usual stylus loving rather fragile resistive screen as seen on a lot of phones of this type.
I assume this would have full internet access using Pocket Internet Explorer or Opera Mobile, rather than the abysmal WAP only efforts which most iPhone clones appear to have.
900/1800 duel band is a bit of a show stopper though, as is no 3G.
the product did not revolutionize the market. touchscreens were avaiable way before the iPhone. it's the marketing that sky rocketed it. and of course the fanboys and fangirls. who else would stand in line 3 hours to buy a cell phone without even knowing how it works and what kind of specs it has??? only in america, baby...

The Tocco has no capacitive Touchscreen like Iphone, Meizu M8 or Palm Pre. It's a totally different feeling. Just in case you don't know. This kind of screen makes multitouch possible, etc...
It's not just the multitouch. Did you ever use a phone/handheld with touchscreen? If you use it with your fingers, this kind of screen is the best. I hate typing on my LG viewty, for example. I type "e" and hit "e" but while pressing, the finger gets wider on the screen an most pressure is on the "w". Just stupid. If you dislike those stylus' as well, capacitive screens are great.
In the beginning (0:51) you said it's a 3.2 megapixel camera, while later you said it's a 1.3 mp (6:57). So which one is it?
Anyway, I'm surprised at how smooth the interface seems to be. If only it were quite a bit cheaper than the iPhone, maybe it could be taken seriously. But even then, it's obviously not original at all. If people started buying it, Apple would probably be all over Meizu's ass.

I just read on Engadget that it sells for $440. That's way too much for most people. If you can really spend that much money, go for the iPhone. It's obviously superior.

Either you don't an M8 or you have never used an iPhone, the M8 mimics the iPhone in every way, not just its a touch screen phone. How the UI works and operates, the motions, how the text messages work, the keyboard, the image players interface etc is all copied from an iPhone. I couldn't care about Apple, but Meizu acted like every other Chinese company and ripped off another companies hard work and ideas. Meizu stole all ideas and replicated the UI that was made by the people at Apple.
Half of the things that look copied to you(image viewer, etc) are just dependent on the touchscreen.
And the rest: You're right, no other company should be allowed to do the following: If someone presses an icon, the app starts...

it has so many nice features on its media player, though.....especially being able to build playlists and edit them like that o.o.....it'd be nice to see that in regular players

I don't understand the reviewer, meizu m8 looks good, sound good, video plays nice and smooth, but he just keep saying i's not good. why? just because it's not an Apple products , doesn't mean it's not a good one. ,,, and he also talk and giggle like an asshole or something.

The Tocco has no capacitive Touchscreen like Iphone, Meizu M8 or Palm Pre. It's a totally different feeling. Just in case you don't know. This kind of screen makes multitouch possible, etc...

It's not just the multitouch. Did you ever use a phone/handheld with touchscreen? If you use it with your fingers, this kind of screen is the best. I hate typing on my LG viewty, for example. I type "e" and hit "e" but while pressing, the finger gets wider on the screen an most pressure is on the "w". Just stupid. If you dislike those stylus' as well, capacitive screens are great.

In the beginning (0:51) you said it's a 3.2 megapixel camera, while later you said it's a 1.3 mp (6:57). So which one is it?
Anyway, I'm surprised at how smooth the interface seems to be. If only it were quite a bit cheaper than the iPhone, maybe it could be taken seriously. But even then, it's obviously not original at all. If people started buying it, Apple would probably be all over Meizu's ass.

2. It IS cheaper than the Iphone. You get it for the same price as the Iphone - but without these expensive contracts.
3. Meizu ist building an selling only in china, at the moment. We will see, if Apple sues Meizu for copying the "rectangle with big screen". But first we will see, wether Apple sues palm and how palm wins or loses. If that happens, I think the way will be cleared for Meizu...

I just read on Engadget that it sells for $440. That's way too much for most people. If you can really spend that much money, go for the iPhone. It's obviously superior.

The official price is 2380 Yuan, that's 350 $ WITHOUT contract.
Where is the Iphone superior? Meizu's screen is better, the audio is better... Sure, it has some software bugs... I would suggest, that you don't evaluate the M8 just with a mediocre review and some wrong infos on engadget...

im not sure if u no wat the app store is....
it does not stand for apple, it stands for application. what im saying is that there are many applications for the iphone and not for the m8. dont get me wrong, i think its an ok phone, just not quite as good as the iphone in my own opinion.

nah. did you listen to this review? the M8 is based on Windows Mobile, allowing anyone to write applications for it. so it can have lots of applications without apple wanting your money.

Either you don't an M8 or you have never used an iPhone, the M8 mimics the iPhone in every way, not just its a touch screen phone. How the UI works and operates, the motions, how the text messages work, the keyboard, the image players interface etc is all copied from an iPhone. I couldn't care about Apple, but Meizu acted like every other Chinese company and ripped off another companies hard work and ideas. Meizu stole all ideas and replicated the UI that was made by the people at Apple.

And the rest: You're right, no other company should be allowed to do the following: If someone presses an icon, the app starts...
Just get your hands on ANY other touchphone and you COULD find similarities to the iphone. But noone gives a rats ass. Of course, when its a chinese company, it's different - they steal! Bad chinese people!!!

dude seriously. this aint a windows mobile phone. its windows CE6 wich is something totaly different from win mobile. windows CE is an opperating system wich is like totaly customizable. no way you could program such a shell in win mobile environment.
secondly you say that it's a 1.3MP (while you are using it) and it's a 3.2MP.

until now M8 is sale in china version only. it's have 900/1800 duo band. that not suitable for usa.
rumor that M8 usa version is comeing. and it's going to have quad band and twice ram.
