  • I study Physics to this music. :)

  • Comment removed

  • Nietzsche described the old Greecian tredgic chorus as bringing forth the "primordial unity," that is, a sense of morbid serenity that links all humanity, and reminds it of its lost collectiveness. I think this applies as well, and that's why it works.

  • @ComatoseFly Do you have the source for that? :) Would be interesting to read

  • ....................AWESOME!!!

  • Good to see that so many people can appreciate this!

  • There are very few movies that are as visually and audibly beautiful as Akira.

  • THE HYMN.

  • 03:13 orgasm

  • Tetsuo should've known better, "absolute power corrupts absolute"

  • 11:55 nemure AKIRA nemure nemure AKIRA nemure nemure nemure Tetsuo nemure nemure kodomo minna nemure saa, tondeke ima inochi wo atarashiku shiro nemure matsu n da mirai ga aoi hoshi wo kaesu toki wo nemure AKIRA nemure nemure AKIRA nemure nemure nemure Tetsuo nemure nemure kodomo minna nemure nemure honoo nemure nemure inochi nemure nemure nemure nemure nemure nemure nemure
  • BEST ANIMATED FILM OF ALL TIME....I DON'T KNOW MAN.....NOTHING QUITE SAYS "BOILING POINT" LIKE AKIRA.....IT'S JUST EXTREMELY INTENSE

  • at 09:00 it's sound like their are praying.

  • Kaneda's motorbike is amazing!

  • Hail 11

  • 31 YEARS AFTER WORLD WAR III

    A.D. 2019 NEO TOKYO

  • It's official. This is playing at my funeral.

  • Even if he was a power-crazed monster. I feel such pity for Tetsuo. He was, in so many ways, just a damaged child. When he was younger, he had no parents and kept a picture of a woman he thought was his mother, just a random woman he chose to represent his mother out of lonliness. His adoptive parents hated him, because he would always ask why his father didin't want to come and see him.

He was just so full of rage and bitterness. And despite being a monster, was the most human character of all

  • This might be a really stupid question to ask but what OST version is this?

  • Amazing..

  • I heard them saying "numure" at the end and knew instantly it meant "sleep" or "rest". No, I haven't seen the movie. It was a truly moving moment to look up the lyrics and realize I'd just known instinctively by the sound. I guess I've absorbed more Japanese in the last 5 years than I thought. I kind of want to cry right now but I'm happy.

  • Check out "Koari" By Spor, you may find something familiar in it.

  • starting from 11:50 i always get chills and tears. especially when the chanters say the names Tetsuo and Akira. makes me sad for some reason.

  • >Listening to Akira's full symphony while mindwandering in persistant awakeness about Japan's nuclear crisis

  • The most brilliant soundtrack that was ever created.......... nothing compares to this!

  • Everyone needs to listen to this song.

  • at about 00:34 i get massive headaches, see subliminal sights of the future

hear "akira" then people around me insta-gib

  • Can anyone tell me what kind of chant is that around 9 mins in. It sounds insane how they say it so quick.

  • @MalenkyGoblin I wish I could help lol, but I've done so much searching on this song and found nothing exact :(

  • @OdachiBladeRebirth All the detailed info is in the CD booklet, actually.

  • @MalenkyGoblin it's buddhist chanting, you can hear a bit of them 'samyasam bodhi samyasam' :)

  • @mintyoreo do you know the full name of it? i wanna look it up.

  • @MalenkyGoblin

    Vivacissimo con bravura?

  • @MalenkyGoblin It is a style of Zen/Buddhist monk chanting. Often improvised and from the heart and soul.

  • @MalenkyGoblin sounds like Zoidburg zoidburg

  • @MalenkyGoblin I dunno, the song starts at 9:36 somewhere in the 1980s. BTW, production of the movie was canceled, it would be a tough cinematography for the framing of ultimate power in a film.

  • @MalenkyGoblin I recall looking this chant up years ago, and I believe it was a Buddhist sutra ( at least one of the chants in the soundtrack was) Try looking up something like Heart Sutra or Shumyo. Normally the chanting is not done so fast, but slower like on the other Akira track.

  • @MalenkyGoblin i'm japanese but i dont even understand wat theyre sayin

  • listen to this song while looking at pictures of the Egyptian protest...

  • FINALLY! THE WHOLE FUCKIN SONG (more like symphony) IN 1 VID! oh, & this might sound nerdy & trippy, but even tho im not religious, i find myself calm (at least until the part that sounds like kaneda's theme) & tense @ the same time, real & unreal, alive & dead, in the flesh & in the soul, almost as if i am in harmony w/the universe. go ahead, call me a hippie, but im sure most of u on this page have felt that 2 w/this song.

  • @LORDAKIRA2019 I like this, thanks for the comment! Also I'm sorry for the late response been having computer issues :(

  • @OdachiBladeRebirth it's kewl. i was on doobies when i made that comment tho. o_O

  • @LORDAKIRA2019 i feel the same. You know? back in time, when i was 16, i used to listen this in my bed before sleeping. :)

  • @anderworld U did that 2? Sweet. Do u have the soundtrack?

  • @LORDAKIRA2019

Ditto. Although I am religious. Regardless, this song is officially playing at my funeral when my long journey ends.

  • @LORDAKIRA2019 Hippie? dude, that was a GREAT comment

  • @deadguynumbr6 No hippie! Just stoned 1 night. U got this song on ur iPod/iPhone?

  • @deadguynumbr6 Or Exodus From The Underground Fortress?

  • @LORDAKIRA2019 ha ha i wasnt calling u a hippie but no, sadly. i did have some Maximum the Hormone (amazing japanese metal band) but i lost my ipod. why?

  • This is absolutely te ULTIMATE Requiem EVER. Most Impressive parts starts at 01:23, intesify at 03:10, and again at 11:33. It´s Chorus makes my hair stand on end... "...- for it has begun already"...

  • The very OPENING of this video can literally say "This will be a sight to see"

  • no words could describe how awesome this movie is.

thanks for the ost ;) .

  • @ryzmaker11 No Problem, More Ost's will be uploaded I'm just trying to find time to update both my channels right now. Glad you enjoyed it.

  • @ryzmaker11 Exactly, how unfortunate a new generation will have to get exposed to the bastardized remake.

  • @Kasigi03

We have to write to WB to stop it. It is an affront to the gods of art.

  • @Kemonokami Ah, let 'em do it. Just don't watch it.

  • @ryzmaker11

Next to "Akira", my favorite anime are "Metroplis" and "Armitage III: Poly-Matrix."

  • @ryzmaker11 If you haven't already, I advise listening to the soundtrack while reading the manga. It's a whole new experience, just as awesome. =D

  • 9:37 and on, FTW!

  • I've watched this DVD with my brothers so many times. We love it and the soundtrack that we got. Watching the documentary on the soundtrack is amazing. They almost spent more time on the soundtrack than the animation. AMAZING Soundtrack. and movie.... and this song sums it all up beautifully.

  • @BigHerm111 I completely agree.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG.

  • all of it... in one video?

    I LOVE YOU

  • @Vorlnax Lol well thanks for watching glad you enjoyed it.
