WEll I can understand how discouraging it must be for them to be marginalized because of their union! The whole thing became irrelevant to them! AS the wife and an african American I would chose to attend the black mardi gras! Who goes to alabama for mardi gras anyways! Don;t they know about New orleans! Heck go to Brazilor any carribean country!

Seems to me that there is also a double-standard when it comes to picking which Ball to attend. The interracial couple chose not to attend the predominately African-American Ball when they discovered the segregation practiced by the lily-white Club. The Couple are two halfs of one whole. I see double standards practiced by the Couple also.
