So you're saying that because the entire city is not like that, that justifies the parts that are bad?
I mean I'm not saying everything is going wrong, because that's not true. But you still shouldn't disregard what is going badly, if we all did that nothing would improve. This goes for anything really.
Let it be known that this weapon saves lives of not only friendly forces but civilians as a result of its extreme accuracy...I would much rather use this weapon rather than a cluster munition.
Geez. When will you people understand that weapons are sometimes necessary to defeat evil. So tell me, what would you rather use to take out a bomb-making warehouse in an urban environment? A 2,000 lb JDAM or this weapon? The former will most certainly cause collateral damage and possibly kill friendly forces and civilians. The latter will attack precisely with a delayed detonation to cause the weapon to explode inside the structure, leaving only the target damaged. What would you prefer in war?
1953-Operation Ajax, the Shah of Iran consolidated his power with CIA, who sold them advanced rockets, fighter jets and tanks.Iran became a leading military power in the Persian Gulf.
1982-Reagan removes Iraq from its list of known terrorist countries.
1983-Donald Rumsfeld meets Saddam Hussein, sells Iraq conventional, chemical and biological(anthrax) weapons.
Throughout the 1980s United States also supplied Afghan freedom fighters with money and arms for their struggle against occupying Soviet troops. One of the best customers for the CIA back then was Saudi millionaire Osama Bin Laden.
This can all be looked up in declassified US documents, wikipedia and respected news sources such as BBC.
Again, I see nothing wrong with admiring hi-tech, but fighting evil with evil might not be the best way. Peace man.
You'll notice I said, "America would prefer not to kill innocent people". Shit happens, and in regards to the Afghanistan war with Russia, the U.S. made a decision to arm Afghan tribes with advanced, but unrevealing anti-tank/anti-aircraft weapons to defeat the Russians. While, yes, it came back to bite the U.S. in the ass, we saved many, many Afghan lives by supplying the Afghans with weapons to shoot down those damn helicopters.
Ultimately, that's what caused the Soviet Union to fall. Ultimately, American's believe it was the right thing to do. I don't know about you, but I sure am glad the Soviet Union isn't around any more...
And some of your dates and allegations are incorrect. I would recommend confirming with multiple reputable sources.
I respect your argument though. You seem like you find interest in this. I wish more people did.

So why is this a response to the Baghdad, 5 years on (part 1 of 3): City of walls video? Seems to me this is sort of in bad taste in that respect.

Mainly to piss ignorant people off...that's why. Got a problem with that?
Baghdad: 5 Years On is in my view a biased and crooked look at Baghdad and Iraq itself. The city as a whole is nothing like that.

Eight years is a considerable time investment; it begs the question, what and where is the return?

'weapon saves lives' these words don't belong together, idiot. not commenting on the rest, pointless.

this is the kind of fucking shit that destroys many innocent people's lifes, it's pointless

This weapon saves lives compared to other munitions. That is the goal. America would prefer not to kill innocent people.
gatrfan 3 years ago
Maybe the US citizen prefers that but the military is doing its best to destabilize the world and get more enemies.
Weapons trade is one of the biggest businesses.
The US has a policy of arming the world and then kicking the shit out of them.
Sure, the missile is awesome technically but don't be ignorant and think that those will always be targeted away from civilians.
