  • What I meant was, as I see that all the text wasn't visible, that I won't do anything a received e-mail tells or asks me to do...fearing that it's just a scam, and/or fearing that they're trying to get money out of my account without my knowledge, or charge things to me or trying the identity theft thing.

  • I wonder how a 286 or 386 can even have viruses on them because as far as I know you can't even use Windows95/98/2000/XP on a 286...maybe it's possible on a 386, but not a 286.. My 286 used DOS. but I know what he's talking about, but I don't any of this, even though it's good info.

  • You can make virus's on a 286 with dos/linux/unix virus as well remember and it can infect XP/Vista/firewalls doesn't matter although it will be different of course and method of getting the virus to execute may be different. I think these comopanies pay people more than 100 dollars to make virus's though I could be wrong.

  • I thought both of these messages were scams so I ignored both messages. Did they originate in Nigeria, I don't even know, and didn't think about looking at the message headers to see where the message originated and where it "traveled."

  • The other one claimed that someone's son needed some sort of operation, and needed a large sum of money to pay for it, so they were asking for donations. I ignored both of these messages.

  • Well, personally, I think there are scammers in every country, and I myself received a message, supposedly from Nigeria, twice, one time it stated that I won some sort of Nigerian lottery, and they wanted to transfer the money to my account.

  • Nigerians are indeed scammers and there is tonnes of evidence available.Also as a smart person you shouldN'T talk of Nigerians as not being able to distinguish a washing machine from a computer. Nigeria is arguably the most literate country in Africa and your comments can come across offensive.

    Even the Nigerian government has acknowledged the problem, hence the Section 419 of the Nigerian Criminal
