luger was absolutely stunning and the camera is very good to us in this match. i was right on the aisle for his entrance at chi-town. whoa! he's at his hottest, though, absorbing punishment and always selling it beautifully. i think he loved that himself. takes more than a little 'willing suspension of disbelief' to see him worked by stickman kendall, whose career was all push.
kendall's career was sheer push. i was ringside at a match he had with great muta in florida, in which muta put provided the fireworks but kendall "pulled it out" at the end. i could never believe he got to this level.
From 1989. One of the few matches that I was able to watch since I was out of the country for most of 1989 (Navy). A good match between Kendall Windham and Lex Luger. Michael Hayes had just done a heel turn on Lex. Ironically, 2 months later, Lex would do likewise on Ricky Steamboat. I hope that there are more posts of Lex Luger from 1989 out there.
Great victory for the package! Michael Hayes was hilarious with his "Neutral" commentary, and JR trying to control him was even funnier. Kendall Windham sucked.
The match was good, but the sound wasn't good, not enough clarity, the sound wasn't clear, it just wasn't good, I'd like to watch this match with much better clarity.
Hey if anyone wants a good watch. Someone should put up the match where Lex Luger first won the United States Championship in 1987 against Nikita Koloff in the cage at the Great American Bash. That was one of the most dominating matches that Luger was in and that I ever saw, Luger totally wipped the floor with him and kicked Koloffs ass.
Wikipedia: In 1990 Kendall Windham and his father Blackjack Mulligan were arrested by the US Secret Service in a joint investigation with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) for counterfeiting. The authorities found close to $500,000 in phony $20 bills.
Why were the bottom and middle ropes in reverse order? The white rope is suppose to be the middle rope and the blue rope is suppose to be the bottom rope, the way the crew that set up the ring didn't put the middle and bottom ropes in the right positions, it looked funny.
Unless you are from a nudist colony don't get into the ring with Lex Lugar.Lugar was on a tight pulling terror. After he pulled Hayes tights to regain the US title he started pulling Rick Steamboats,Tommy Rich's anybody that got into the ring with him left with their tights pulled
I don't think Lex was nearly as bad as everyone claims.

Kendall was a good wrestler, However he didn't had the look to be a heel. He look like Greg Gagne, give me a break.

Actually, I thought that Kendall greatly improved as a heel and was very underated as part of the W.Texas Rednecks in the closing days of WCW.

@Buckeyecat2002 Well, Kendall's money may have been counterfeit but there was nothing phony about his skills.

Are you sure it wasn't written in the scripts? I know alot of the plots written for these guys tended to be pretty formulaic.
