He did give it his all to Newcastle it was just that whenever he got healthy again and started scoring goals England would call him up and return him with a nick or two and it was back to rehab for Owen. Too harsh on Short Stuff. He did give it his all to Newcastle it was just that whenever he got healthy again and started scoring goals England would call him up and return him with a nick or two and it was back to rehab for Owen. He was never the most technically gifted player ever mostly just speed and an excellent eye for goal so can you blame the guy for wanting to leave when he really only had 2 or 3 years of decent pace left in him? The real blame was with the English FA and McClaren.
