What compression ratio did the motor have in this vid? I am building my motor now with plan to have an F1a by next year, so I'll be a year n/a and dont want it to be a total dog. Im buying forged internals within a week (hopefully) and was going to go 9.8-10.1:1 so its not a slouch n/a, but I dont want to be limited on boost (detonation if too much boost + high CR) Thanks
@746RWHP lets hope man., i was gna go f1a or f1d but i dont think i should because of the low boost levels id be running on the blower, id probobly only push 15psi outta the f1a which is low for that i believe. i want to cog my car though which u can only do with the f1 series
@ Sal624 haha thats fine. I forwarded this video to bart Tobener and he laughed at your ignorance on how to really make power. he makes over 1000 to the tire also with a YSi. never said the blower was a stock blower either. but i could really care less if you think im a "story teller" if you live in the south. Come to Commerce aka the Atlanta Drag way this weekend. and you can see it first hand.
you could go with an aluminator or you could go even better and find a Teksid Aluminum block for cheap on ebay...Itanlian designed block is WAY stroger than 03/04 Cobra iron, 99-03 Windsor aluminum blocks and even the aluminator. it was only produced in 96-98 cobras....has square shaped cross-hatching in the valley vs. diamond shaped for the 99+ AL blocks...if John Mihovetz can make 2300hp on his TT 4.6 (Accufab TT-cougar), with a tock cobra crank to boot, you should be fine...
If you get a chance since you have run most of the common set ups, how did you like the F1a driving the car around town? I like to put miles on the my car even though it's not a daily I want to be able to drive it as much as I want. I'm really torn because I've heard many say the F1's are not great in a street car. LMK what you think, thanks, Jeff
Yup, I've heard that too, but I think the reason is because to get the most out of a centri you have to spin it (high rpms) but alot of street drving you can't really do that, many ppl have said they prefer a twin screw on the streets just because of the instant tq, its alot of fun. but to each their own, im on the stock eaton myself and still havent decided what to do next, but im still having plenty of fun with it!!
Awesome. Im on the stock eaton still, and was wondering if I could get your input, if you had your way and went either centrifugal, twinscrew, or twin turbo which would it be? if you prefer, just pm me. Thanks, and you have an amazing car! Makes me proud to own one too.
I've had all and the twin turbo setup was my favorite. More power less boost, incredible top end. The F1A was definately the coolest sounding setup though.
if you wana' call bullshit that's fine. you are more than welcome to bench race all you want. hell come to atlanta and we can line em' up.
the EXACT setup in my car is
its a 310 inch MMR rotating assembly with shaved 5.4 heads that have been cleaned with a set of cams. sullivan intake and twin aeromotive pumps thats being tuned with a fast ecu setup as a piggy back so that the car can still be plugged up for emissions.
people make that kinda power. bart tobener is one of em.
never said my motor was stock. and yes it was on 93 octane pump gas.you obviously dont pay any sort of attention to whats going on. theres plenty of people over 1000 hp on relatively stock Terminator short blocks. Especially with turbo setups. Just because you car didnt make it doesnt mean it cant be done.
only thing done to my car is rods and pistons and some top end work. call all the BS you want this is just my daily. i buildmuscle cars and drag race for a livin' bud.
Your not saying all your mods. Nobody is going to make 1102rwhp on 22lbs of boost with a ysi blower. You running meth injection? No way in hell your just running 93 octane at 1102rwhp. And yes I do pay attention and I think your full of it. I have a turbo setup on the car now that will definately make over 1000 but at high boost.
650 whp?? BULLSHIT. if its really an F1 with 25 lbs of boostand its only maken 650 kick the builder of the car in the nuts and take it somewhere else. my YSi blower with 22 lbs on my cobra made 1102 to the tire.
yea ima go with 746RWHP ur an idiot...theres no way with a ysi vortech ur gna make 1102 to the wheels...ur a fuckin storyteller and bullshitter....just close your mouth so more shit doesnt come flying out. My Vortech V1R at 26psi wont make 1102 and the ysi compared to my V1R is garbage.... ;)
@Sal624 And to back it up again.. give Bob Kurgan a call. he makes around the same as me with a YSi. dont believe me call him. his car does it, mine does, it Barts does it. just because YOU havent done it and your average little street car hasnt doesnt mean its impossible. have a good weekend!!
Ah gotcha, thanks. I have a mineral grey terminator and i'm trying to decide between whipple 3.4, F1A cog, or Hellion twin turbos, I know they all offer something different but i'm still not sure which way to go with it. I noticed that you said you recently went with the hellion kit, that "it's never enough" bug bit ya huh? lol. There's not any strips around me close so i'm leaning further from the whipple as I love the top end feeling of a centri or TT's.
Ya F1's are the shit, pry better than the KB blower but... twin turbos are definitely king. Thats crazy that you've had 3 different(4 including the stock blower) power adders on this car. Wish I had that kind of doe lol...
lol, I've had stock blower, ported blower, whipple 2.3, procharger, and now twin turbos. Turbos are the mmost fun. I sold alot of old parts to fund the new ones.
Procharger was something different. I had the 2.3L whipple before. Procharger made more power. Not a fan of KB. Now i have the Hellion Twin turbo kit.
thats insane, I have a camaro and I know its all aluminum and you have an iron block, so their different, but did you have to change the pistons and conn. rods with this setup?
The timing is turned way down. Its only an estimate. I didnt have it on the dyno with that. 746rwhp is what it made with 16*timing. I think that pretty good. more than a twin screw would make. Alot more.

I had CCW wheels, 18x11 in rear with a 335 drag radial. Then switch to the CCW drag pack with 16's in back and drag slick. Still had the IRS.

quick question : do centrifugal blowers have intercoolers?
SkAtEOrDie67 3 years ago
This kit retains the stock 03 Cobra intercooler, but yea you can run an air to air intercooler with a centrifigal supercharger.
