They were always the ugliest band. Not their fault but people do buy the image with the music. Shameful but reality. Don't act like you never did and cared only about the music. If they were better looking they would have sold more.
@NelsonClick What? WHAT? Really? I've never cared about anything except the music. what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard, and everyone is now dumber for having read it.
You caught me. I don't know a THING about music making or how the recording business works and have NO insight in such matters. You called me out. I'll go crawl in a hole somewhere and cry.
people who claim the 80's was all synth really know very little music form that peroid. Ever heard of jangle pop. Great music from Johnny marr, James Honeyman Scott, and John McGeoch.
Don't bash on me you Grunge hounds. I was there. Most of you talk shit and are what - 25, 30 at best? You weren't there. They were are great live show! The awesome black dude on bass is White. But this show is horrible. I hate Letterman anyway. Why do I wanna see some cranked out guy - Chris, jumping around like a jackass? Grunge clothes, whatever...your show up on tv like a meth-head street bum. I'd rather see a pretty Grace Slick on acid! At least she had her own dignity and intelligence!
god you guys, there are plenty of non-disney musicians today playing really good music well. stop hating. people said it about the 90's back then, when they praised the 70s. its all relative
@DimebagsLeftToe ,I know right? I love Grunge music as much as the next guy,but I'm actually open to Rock music, something that can't actually be said about Grunge fans,lol....well,most of them. The majority of bands today will tell you that most of the 90's bands were an Influence on them. Just like all the 90's bands were Influenced by bands from decades before,hell...Kurt Cobain was a Beatles fan. What does that tell you? lol.I'm not forcing bands on anybody, just want them to understand.
@slipknotlyrics yeah. people will say the 80s were superficial and poppy synthy stupid shit, but cobain was heavily influenced by the pixies and all them. to generalize a time period like that is useless
@DimebagsLeftToe ,Well, the 80's did have some quality music tho. Kurt actually said in an Interview in 1991,when asked about how poppy/heavy Smells like Teen Spirit sounded,to which Kurt replied "Teen Spirit was my attempt at writting a Pop song,I wanted to write the ultimate Pop song. I was basiclly trying to rip off The Pixies because I connected with that band so much that I should've been in that band,or at least a Pixies cover band". Here comes your man is the only song I've heard, love it!!
@DimebagsLeftToe ,All I'm asking is for the Grunge fans to at least take a moment and try to Understand, that Music is obviously Influenced by Music. I'm in no way trying to force them to listen to the bands today, they don't have to,but when they talk shit on them, that offends me cause I like them. I want them to Understand that Grunge is the reason we even have Alternative Rock bands right now,if it weren't for Grunge bands,God knows what we'd be listening to. There's alot of good bands now too.
I remember when I began to learn how to play drums, I've actually heared all day long pocket full of kryptonite, and wanted to play like Aaron Comess. A couple of days ago I put the record, and finally 10 years after (like the band) I can play all the record exactly as him.
Observation... Why is the guy in the purple shirt playing the cowbell???? SDr's are all excellent with what they do and the cowbell was throwing me off just listening to it.
... they are Letterman`s band musicians , the `ginger tramp` beard was the `in` thing in part of the 90s , as for your 9 to 5 mentality you`ll never have the guts to have long hair and that beard in your life , boy
Here's something you don't see in modern musical acts...a band, jumping around, having fun, enjoying the music. No choreographed dancing. Just grooving to the music and enjoying their creation, not something that some Disney producer conjured up.
I love it, they show their skills in short spurts. No long solos (not that they had time to), but just enough musicianship to really play up the songs. I'm gonna get popular and do this. See you guys later
the entire cd is just awesome, but the only thing you would hear on the radio would be little miss..., two princes, and jimmy olsen's blues. every other song on that cd is SO much better, like Off my Line, Refrigerator Car, and Shinbone rally/Hard to exist. the guitarist sang on one of these songs and he sounds better than Barron.
@ecki444 The song is Off My Line. Another song he sings is Indifference that is on the Turn it Upside Down cd. That song too should have been another hit but i don't know why the hell not....
I've taken a lesson/met at a party Mark White, their bassist. He has to be one of the best bassists. Honesty I think he is, although Flea is who got me playing, Mark is 10 times better.
@ibanezrocker12 most recordings use multiple guitars recorded for sound-fill. the same guy did them in the studio, but there's only one of him live, so paul's guitarists are the next logical choice for the show. they want to keep it close to the studio recording because a lot of people who aren't familiar with them are watching. it's like when a band uses extra musicians for the tour for certain songs
@drstoopid14 Hey I think Paul Shaffer's keys sound pretty cool but as far as the extra guitars go its not needed. Listen to the version on Homebelly Groove live... it doesn't have ANY rhythm guitar at all and it peaked 145 on US charts. Not bad for a live album.
great song ! Spin doctors really kick some arse ! but cant as the doggie said... why the additional musicians ? I believe they are much better alone...
