Hi, i got my lip pierced like 2 months ago and i think its infected or my skin is rejecting it. I got it pierced in may of this year but i let it close cause of work.(it was healing good) Then i got it repierced in august by a different piercer. It was healing ok for about a month then a big red ball is forming on the inside aroung the ring. but on the outside its perfectly find(no crust,no different color changing). So i just wanna know is it infected and wat can i do to get the ball down.

@PessimisticOutcomes You can get one with your parents permission. Trust me just be nice, dont beg, just casually drop it out and keep on asking. But dont over do it that will just make it less likely !

@evilangelsora When you move it around, be sure to get whatever your cleaning it with ON the lip ring and move it back and fourth in the actual hole cleaning the hole itself too making it less irritated :)

@smokindaweed It's normal if it bleeds a little, just apply some gauze thats sprayed with saltwater.If it's bleeding profusely however, there is likely a problem.
if your going to use a normal soap use something without scent and stuff... my suggestion that my piercer told me is Dial...the original orange colored kind.
Aw, jesus. I hate that sort of 'sleep in your eyes' crap that accumulates around piercings. It's so gross. Whenever I get my cartilage done, it's always there. but it lessens after a week or two.
chew on ice and keep icing it. take ibuprofen and make sure you clean your piercing really well... if this doesnt stop after around 6 days goo see a doctor or your piercer:)

of course it hurts to put a needle through ur flesh. but it is a pain for like 2 seconds & its not too bad, really. but if u really want a piercing u should be able to deal with the small pain instead of putting all kinds of creams & sprays on it to numb it.
when i had mine done the place use a special spray which numbs it.. it stings slightly.. and you feel the needle going through the layers of skin.. but nothing too bad:)

no it just pinced but most places use a numbing gel or spray so ya should be good to go, my lip is the least painful piercing ive had, and it hasnt hurt yet, so you should be good to go
Do not use a q-tip, cotton bud, or cotton ball because small fibers can be pulled inside the healing piercing and cause irritation if not removed immediately. Cotton buds also bump around the jewelry and irritate the piercing!
is it true that when getting a lip pierced and when it heals through a labret that i wont be able to put a lip ring after it heals because of the angle?
Another good thing i find to do is to get some sea salt put it in a glass, and add warm water to dissolve it, then put it in your mouth and hold it around ur lip ring on the inside.
yah it does dont use it. use Biotene i get it at safe way or walgreens. it is alcohol free but use it with 50% water. so get the biotene and then get bottled water and swish (make sure its bottled water!)
Due to work: my piercer was nice enouph to give me a glass starter jewlrey! It's got a flat back on the inside (so my teeth dont catch it) and it's completely clear/see thru on the outside being held by a small "o ring". I usually have to show people it's there otherwise they won't notice! I've been cleaning the outside with H2Ocean (product) and Alcohol-Free Mouthwash. I also am staying away from ALL alcohol and I brush my teeth and clean everytime anything enters my mouth.
you dumbass it has a flat back bcuz its called a LABRET. you never put barbellss for lip rings. he didnt give you any special treatment. ppl always get labrets or rings when they get there lip pierced never a barbell.

a lot of times even thorough cleaning will not stop the puss...its natural for piercings to sometimes get a little pus because there are an extra amount of white blood cells (aka pus) going to the area to fight infection...but if its bleeding a lot and there is a very large amount of pus it may be infected...this is all info i got from a professional.just make sure you continue to clean it but dont use anything with alcohol because it kills the new cell and will slow down the healing process

no no no keep it in 24/7 and if it gets infected keep it in 2 never take it out because it can cause a syst, and yes it is normal for it to hurt at first when eating i just got mine done 7 days ago... the swelling will go away after about 4 days but yea other than that just do what the guys in the vid siad and it should heal up just fine
I got my lip pierced at the bottom on the side too bout 2 weeks ago...so u dnt take the lip ring out becuz it might cause an infection if u keep takin it out if u just got it... but it will get caught on yo teeth until u get use to eatin with it...i bit mines a few times..but anyways dnt take it out just try to get use to it and wash your mouth out with mouthwash after u eat
yes it will infect it , i just got mine done and i drank 2 days after and it got super infected and the soap just any kind of bactirial soap will work you can prolly get that at your local drug store
Why is this dude telling people to clean with alcohol-free mouth wash and to turn the piercing and all this? When I had both my lip piercings done my piercers advised me not to use a regular mouth wash, but to use a saline solution instead, and not to turn it unless it did it on its own while I was sleeping.
It really varies by piercer. Many piercers tell people to avoid mouthwash because people don't realize it has to be Alcohol Free. Same with moving it. Some piercers believe it's best not to move the jewlery, some advise to do so to clean, and keep skin from "grabbing" it.

I got my lip(Not Labret) done saturday by my mom... lol best parents ever.
It rly doesent hurt, it burns for a few seconds but after that its nothin besides a little swelling.
Oh and the inside of your mouth where the ring is will get a lil raw, but nothin too bad.
I'm 14 btw :P

is it true that when getting a lip pierced and when it heals through a labret that i wont be able to put a lip ring after it heals because of the angle?

Another good thing i find to do is to get some sea salt put it in a glass, and add warm water to dissolve it, then put it in your mouth and hold it around ur lip ring on the inside.

i use crest pro-health ALCOHOL-FREE mouthwash,dial complete liquid soap 4 the outside and H2Ocean spray. and it all works great =]

yah it does dont use it. use Biotene i get it at safe way or walgreens. it is alcohol free but use it with 50% water. so get the biotene and then get bottled water and swish (make sure its bottled water!)

Due to work: my piercer was nice enouph to give me a glass starter jewlrey! It's got a flat back on the inside (so my teeth dont catch it) and it's completely clear/see thru on the outside being held by a small "o ring". I usually have to show people it's there otherwise they won't notice! I've been cleaning the outside with H2Ocean (product) and Alcohol-Free Mouthwash. I also am staying away from ALL alcohol and I brush my teeth and clean everytime anything enters my mouth.

you dumbass it has a flat back bcuz its called a LABRET. you never put barbellss for lip rings. he didnt give you any special treatment. ppl always get labrets or rings when they get there lip pierced never a barbell.

okay so its barely been a week since i got my lip pierced. and its swollen. like it should be. but i did the whole soap cleaning thing. and like sometimes theres icky stuff that comes out of it. im assuming its pus. but how do i stop that?? omg im like hella scared right now. but like can someone tell me how i can clean it so it stops pussing and how i can get the swelling to go down??

Watch what you eat. Sometimes certain foods high in salt can irritate it and cause it to stay swollen longer.

a lot of times even thorough cleaning will not stop the puss...its natural for piercings to sometimes get a little pus because there are an extra amount of white blood cells (aka pus) going to the area to fight infection...but if its bleeding a lot and there is a very large amount of pus it may be infected...this is all info i got from a professional.just make sure you continue to clean it but dont use anything with alcohol because it kills the new cell and will slow down the healing process

this is really helpful..i got my lip piercing yesterday (bottom lip in the corner)..i just hate the swelling that came after it...i have a question for those who know about lip piercings and such..."when u eat do u take the lip piercing off?? or leave it in? after u just got it pierced.. cuz when i eat my piercing gets got on my bottom teeth and it hurts a bit..i know very lil cuz all i was told after i eat rinse my mouth with mouth wash and let it heal for 3 weeks..if u know please comment me

no no no keep it in 24/7 and if it gets infected keep it in 2 never take it out because it can cause a syst, and yes it is normal for it to hurt at first when eating i just got mine done 7 days ago... the swelling will go away after about 4 days but yea other than that just do what the guys in the vid siad and it should heal up just fine

I got my lip pierced at the bottom on the side too bout 2 weeks ago...so u dnt take the lip ring out becuz it might cause an infection if u keep takin it out if u just got it... but it will get caught on yo teeth until u get use to eatin with it...i bit mines a few times..but anyways dnt take it out just try to get use to it and wash your mouth out with mouthwash after u eat

yes it will infect it , i just got mine done and i drank 2 days after and it got super infected and the soap just any kind of bactirial soap will work you can prolly get that at your local drug store

Why is this dude telling people to clean with alcohol-free mouth wash and to turn the piercing and all this? When I had both my lip piercings done my piercers advised me not to use a regular mouth wash, but to use a saline solution instead, and not to turn it unless it did it on its own while I was sleeping.

It really varies by piercer. Many piercers tell people to avoid mouthwash because people don't realize it has to be Alcohol Free. Same with moving it. Some piercers believe it's best not to move the jewlery, some advise to do so to clean, and keep skin from "grabbing" it.
