what an amazing story watching this has given me hope that if my twins are born to early i can be strong as you both have been may god keep blessing you and your family.and thank you for sharing your story
hi there i just posted the video of my micro preemie also named addison born at 26 weeks weighting only 1 lb 8 oz's. it really brings you back to that time when things are so upside down and time seems to just stand still. thank you for sharing your store as i did. this new nicu mothers need to know and see that these sweet tiny babies do make it and having a micro doesn't spell doom. good luck with your baby addy.
It was a long journey during our 1st pregnancy. Our little girl was diagnosed with IUGR and she came at 34 weeks (5/9/2011) but was only 2lb 5oz. We were in the NICU for about 7 weeks and it seemed so much longer. It is a really rough time ...all the thoughts...the traveling back and forth to the hospital...being without my husband while I stayed at RMH near the hospital. We were so lucky that she is doing so well and is home now.
I was in the hospital at 29 weeks on bed rest. On his birthday the doctor ran some tests and discovered he had only grown 3 days in 3 weeks. They decided to take him by emergency C-section. When the doctor went to take him her face got white as a sheet. He had a true knot. If they hadn't taken him he would have been dead in 24 hours. My Colin was born at 31 weeks and stayed in the NICU for 8 weeks. I now have a healthy happy 14 month old little boy who just took his first steps this morning.
i too know how this feels it was my first son was born at 26 wks weighing 2lb 3 1/2 oz and i was only 19 its was very difficult he was there for 11 weeks and out three weeks before his due date which was a miracle im glad you to had miracle
I went into the hospital with contractions on April 9, 2009 at 23 weeks and 5 days pregnant with twins. They were able to keep me pregnant for 6 more weeks and my twins were born at 29 weeks and 4 days weighing 3 lbs 3 oz and 3 lbs 2 oz. They stayed in the NICU for 8 weeks and 10 weeks so I completely understand what you have been through.. My boys are truly a gift from God and prayer is the reason they are very healthy active 2-year-olds. Congrats on your beautiful little precious baby!
Wow I'm so happy for their family that baby Addyson is healthy & doing great! That story made me tear up. I can't imagine how hard that must have been! I had my oldest a month early & it was a very traumatizing experience. She was only in the NICU a few days & that was hard enough! Love Pampers videos they are really great!
Thank you for sharing to us...I have a baby boy 11 month, and i even learn from you guys how to talk right with him:)...I see so many love coming from you guys and its awesome...make me feel happy...Congratulations! Lauren and Aaron you guys went through a lot, life is not easy, but love save everything! Kids gonna be proud of you!
My son was born at 34 weeks and we spent 3 weeks in the NICU. I am expecting with a baby girl and am 31 weeks. It looks like she will come early was well and have been on bed rest for the last four weeks. Keep 'em cooking, right? My wish for baby girl is to hold her
Amazing! My little girl Grace was born at 25 weeks and weighed 1 lb 7 oz also...Just the sound of the NICU triggered strong emotions. Grace is a healthy and happy 5 year old and just started kindergarten. I don't know if tears will ever cease. This is something that will always be with you.
I know exactly what its like to have a child in a NICU (3 months for my son), It's a rough experience for your child and you. Babies are pretty strong willed from what I have seen. Have faith in your child and the health care providers! And never become one of those parents that the nurses roll their eyes at when they see you coming into the room....
What a beautiful, heartwarming story! Lauren couldn't have shared her experiences any better; she speaks the feelings, concerns and learning curve that all NICU moms have to go through when having a preemie in the NICU, it can truly be overwhelming at times. Best wishes to the Smolinski family and precious Addyson!
That walk.... thru the doors, up the elevator, past the well baby nursery... down the long corridor to the NICU.... the sinks, the purell..... and alas... there is your baby's isolette! Prayers to all of those going through this right now.... and for those home recovering and those who unfortunately will go through this in the future!
@prissy1974 - Yes, this is one of the moments in the clip that hit me the most as well. Like he said the NICU moments are flashes now: flashes of good moments and flashes of bad. I will never forget that walk thru the NICU doors, the sink and the scouring of hands. I felt my hands would peel off from the number of washes. Oh but for those precious little guys fighting down the hall, I would do it all again and again. It's hard reliving the memories. It makes my heart sing and cry all at once.
