The first day I got my SRX728S Subwoofer I took it up to about hafl the volume and the cops came in about 15 min....was funny!
Great sounding....I heard the Mackie high/mids and subs before and at high SPL they sound like crap....they cant handle the highs....the lows are ok not the best....They sound good at low SPL....Put anything at my JBL SRX725 and SRX728S and it will make it happen without any problems....lol....Mackies are still good....I wouldnt say they r shit....lol
@djteknovibe Sound quality is subjective, but in my opinion JBL Vertec is one of the worst sounding big line array systems out there.. Even the million year old La vdosc is much better.. JBL has this massive problem due to belonging to a huge mother corp Harman, their way of doing things these days is that marketing has taken over the R&D and they put more resources to the outlook of a finished product rather than the actual features and quality.
Wow 4 90 degree speakers tight packed. Can you say COMB FILTERING? But if all you care about is volume and not clarity I suppose this configuration made lots of noise. These are not designed to be an arrayable speaker.
Purchase a pair of HD 1531. These bad boys are loud. I mean loud! So i used it for 1 gig. The 2nd gig one wasnt working WTF. So i had a backup mackie 450 to put on one side. Thinking it might just be some messed up xlr. I came home to test it. Using the new mackie profx 12, to test it, the woofer was all messed up! WTF. So yesterday i called the dealer to give me a new one. I hope this doesnt happen while doing a big gig. Loud output overall, but going out on me is all bad, $1,200 a piece, hmmm?
i run my mackies with the tap wide open and protect with dbx, theyre made to go loud, having them at unity only makes your peaking mix sound bad, mix at unity and let the amps do the peaking ez
I did a side by side comparison of the Mackie and QSC speakers and was very disappointed with the Mackies'. The highs, mids, and lows were all better on the QSC. Instead of buying the Mackies, I will be purchasing the QSCs.
@newhorizon2000 The Mackie 1531's are very comparable to qsc & jbl's equivalents but i have to say i think mackie comes out on top and is the clear winner of the 3...im not saying the other two brands aren't good im just saying mackie is equally as good if not a little bit better.
I don"t run makie i run QSC kw now!
