thats total bs, please dont talk about what you dont know about. one has nothing to do with the other. you dont need to know how to scuba dive to know how to survive in case of a crash. i am a scuba diver and the things you learn about have nothing to do with survival at sea. it has to do with priciples used underwater and the phisiology of what happens while under water as well as at the surface after a dive. but survival is not in the scope of getting certified as a diver.
@qlogic74 Really, so the cousin of my mother that was an Air Force pilot for his entire career of 21 years doesn't know what he's talking about either? You're a PADI diver at best, PADI is a joke compared to military diving/commercial diving, I have both a Master Diving Cert with PADI and a nuclear waste commerical diving cert. Getting my PADI one took absolutely no effort. And if you were certified above Open Water, you'd know there are techniques that are taught to survive in the open ocean.
yes thats what i am saying. there is nothing in common with breathing compressed gas @ depth and breathing noncompressed gas @ the surface. since it isnt compressed gas @ the surface you are not nitrogen loading. so there would be no reason to get scuba certified just because your a pilot. he may have done it on the side as a recreational choice, but he did not get certified because he is a pilot. and i do know a little about this being 10 years Navy (military diving)
@qlogic74 Well, see, you're wrong there, the only reason you nitrogen load at depth is because your cells can only absorb so much nitrogen at once, the higher the atmospheric level, the faster that occurs. You could breath straight air through a tube to the surface and still have the same effect on you. The fact that you don't even know that makes the validity of your argument invalid.
that is incorrect and if you were a real diver then you would understand y. you r in fact correct about the more atmospheres you desend into the faster you will nitrogen load, but only when diving on compressed gas. if that were not the case free divers would load on nitrogen but they do not.this is also y u run through more air will diving at depth due to the fact of the deeper u go d more concentrated each breath is therefore more nitrogen in a shorter time. do your homework.
@qlogic74 Free divers would never load on nitrogen, because they go into necrosis much quicker as it is, adding more fuel to that fire would just be deadly. If any thing, they'd load on helium, to combat the effects of Nitrogen Narcosis. Again, you go absorb more Nitrogen at depth, because it is compressed into a smaller space, but your body still takes the same quantity of it, no matter how deep you go. (MOD) x (MIX), when you get out of padi bubblemaker course, come talk to me.
wow! free divers breath heliem.....hmm do a search on youtube on free divers.you take a breath at the surface and then dive as deep as you can go.SO free divers DO NOT breathe heliem, again showing your ignorance on this subject is comical at this point.and getting narc's is a symtom of breathing ANY compressed gas at a depth normally seen with people after 100 ft, but some are effected earlier or later.the ONLY way to stop narcing is to come up till the effects are no longer felt or seen
@qlogic74 Read what I said you fucking inbred, I said if they wanted to avoid Narcosis, they'd breathe Helium, given that you Helium can negate the effects of Narcosis, and if you knew anything about diving, you'd know that most people that dive deeper than 6 bar (50 meters), use an additional tank, with helium in it, to have longer times. And yes, any air you breathe you will get Narcosis, but at different rates, you don't go into Narcosis from Nitrogen at the same rate as you do Oxygen.
the fact is u said that free divers load on heliem when in fact they do not load on anything due to them taking a single breath @ the surface dive down and return on same breath. definition of free diving is being able to dive without anything but your suit and fins, eyewear. so in u saying that they would load on heliem u r incorrect again
@qlogic74 I actually never said they load on helium, I'm glad you graduated middle school... And right there is where this conversation ends, you are just too dumb for words.
look above you wrote this " Free divers would never load on nitrogen, because they go into necrosis much quicker as it is, adding more fuel to that fire would just be deadly. If any thing, they'd load on helium, to combat the effects of Nitrogen Narcosis" man 2 b wrong on so many things in 1 post is a little ridiculous. ok well ive had enough fun with this over the past couple days gotta do something constructive now.
the only time heliem is added is when you are doing tri-mix of oxygen, heliem, and nitrogen.or u can take the nitrogen completly out of the mixture which effectively gives you a heliox mix, which both can be is used for commercial diving or teck diving.the addition of heliem is used for diving deep dives to combat loading on nitrogen as well as getting oxygen toxicity...again 10 years Navy diving, bubble maker course....funny
@qlogic74 Yeah, and judging by your English, you could have never passed any exams past AOW in PADI, let alone the Navy (which by the way, you were never in, or you wouldn't shoot like a complete retard). Clearly you don't know how to read or retain knowledge because I brought up Helium to combat Narcosis, you downright denied that as a method of diving, then posted how it can be used as a mix or standalone tank for diving deeper and longer. Go google your knowledge more.
by the way you dont learn to shoot in the navy unless you are in certain rates.I was an electronics technician, with radar c schools as well as communication c schools.(c schools r specialty schools for all of u who dont know the navy). i down right denied that free divers breath heliem, because they dont breath any compressed gas.and im an inbred (inbreed is what u meant to say in the context u wrote it in) 143 point IQ comes in handy many times.
u admit that you can get narc'd at different times on different gases i agree with u. but u stated that free divers use heliem to avoid getting narc'd. like i have said that is incorrect due to them not breath ANY "compressed gas" as u stated was a requirement of getting narc'd

what does the air force have to do with diving?
timber2020 1 year ago
@timber2020 All pilots are trained divers... given you land in water, you know how to survive in the middle of the ocean, or you die
