Ana Marie does seem to like sarcastic questions. That is part of her journalistic style. But if a man had asked the question, would you have called him a bitchy gay with an agenda?
Oh, by the way, she is heterosexual, happily married to a man.
But our state legislatures and Congress -will- reject all of the discriminatory laws that still exist on the books eventually.
And the quickest route to that is not a President boldly imposing decency on everybody, but the American People, all of us, speaking to each other and telling the bigots that their fathers were wrong on just that one issue and that now it's time to grow up and stop hating.
Jesus's second commandment was fairly simple: Love.
According to The Advocate, Rep. Howard Berman says that a major statement and some sort of action on LGBT issues will be coming from the White House in the next month, before the anniversary of the Stonewall uprising, i.e. before gay pride festivities can get underway in most cities.
I think this means Obama will do or say just enough to make gay rights activists look silly for complaining, but ultimately substantive change will be put delayed or dismissed as we have come to expect.
I don't wanna sound like an Obamamaniac, but I just think that everybody in America -except- Barack Obama should be working on ending discrimination BY government.
Yes, it's appalling. DADT is appalling. But global economic collapse is appalling, too. And nuclear terrorism. And unprosecuted torture. And the levels of poverty existing in the richest nation on earth.
Everything is a top priority.
America is grown up enough now to solve homophobia without any help from Daddy Obama at all.
haha that's so cute when she's trying to talk. I love how she can be professional and yet casual at the same time. Good question, even better the next day.
Obama's committed to changing but unfortunately it's just not a priority. In the meantime many valuable men and women will be needlessly removed from service when we need the most.
You aren't the only one; I have a crush on her, too. But, she is married to a Washington journalist named Chris Lehman so there is no hope for us. :( lol

1.) She's not a lesbian. Nice try.
2.) You say 'agenda'.... Is that the 'gay agenda'... HAHA scary gay people....
3.) 'Sarcastic' and 'bitchy'? Really? Or, is that your wording for intellectual and analytical questioning? I was quite impressed with Ana Marie Cox.

Bigotry is a crime because it brings even more pain to completely innocent people than the pain that comes from violent criminal assault and battery.
Bigotry is reprehensible.

Obviously this is a threat to National Security. DADT is a policy that would be welcomed by the Taliban!
