When you move the chicken to the low heat side.... do you turn off the high heat side?.. or do you leave it on cooking the chicken using indirect heat?
its Royal wedding day in in England and i am doing a BBQ for some family and friends,Just made the marinade and its all in the fridge for tomorrow,will let you know how it goes,
@ChefTips Hi Jason!!!, man that went down well with everyone,im not one for cooking but last week i got myself a lovely 4 burner stainless steel BBQ ,it looks the business and i will be using your Hawaiian recipe again .
Ray's has the best chicken!!!!! haha, I've gotten chicken from that stand atleast 5 times lol..Buy a chicken with rice, go next door to the market for some more stuff and head to the beach to eat!!!
I've searched my local stores high and low for concentrated pineapple juice to no avail -- I would use the juice not from concentrate but I worry the flavor won't carry through -- do you think maybe some canned pineapple pulverized in a processor would work as an adequate substitute?
@kaygeedubbs Another thing you could do is try using frozen orange juice concentrate, which is much easier to find in stores. THe flavor won't be the same but it will still be delicious!
I heard you talking about marinade ingredients, and I was like... "oh please please pineapple in this" and then you said pineapple and I cried a little.
Hey i just saw this video and told my dad to go to the grocery store to get the ingredients and he did lol. he thinks it will be very good. so i made the marinate and now im just waiting for the chicken to defrost. i tasted the BBQ marinate and its soooooo good!!!!!!!
thanks for this video dude i cant wait until tomorrow to try it!!!
Great chicken, it really helped me that video, thanks. And I have one more thing to say: Jason, you are a good person and a good chef because i see at every video you reply back comments to me and to other people, and this is a very important thing on youtube cuz you will gain more subscribers. Cheers Jason!
Thanks for the comment. I really enjoy interacting with my viewers. I have not had much time to that lately because my house caught fire last month and we had to move out. It's been quite an ordeal!
Dear Jason: Thank you SO MUCH for sharing this and so many amazing recipes with us. I hope that you can get some free time to reply my message. I work as a personal assistant and my boss is a big fan of baked chicken cutlets. He always complain that I make the cutlets too dry and overcooked.... What is the right oven setting and what should I do to make them juicy and not get them sticky and burned on one side? I would appreciate your comments. Your big fan, Carlos
You're a genius! I watched all your 103 videos in 1 day! The bad part of it is that when i subscribed i began watching one by one, and my mum was cooking at the same time, I was dead hungry :D
So I gave a gas grill a try the other day, hate to admit but i liked it. I find for the best results for your chicken to start thighs and breast bone side down because this will heat up the bone and start it cooking from the inside guaranteeing you're not eating raw uncooked chicken in the center , and then just flip them every 5 minutes for 30 minutes. I've had a 100% success with this with the chicken being moist. I use a thermometer too, just incase ;-) Thanks again, also recipe chef.
My grill only has 1 burner setting, could I just turn it to low after I sear it, or would it be better to finish it in the oven and if so what time/temp? Thanks again, recipe looks great
Hey Jason, I tried this yesterday.. I marinaded over night and turn over AAAAaaaaawesom! Only thing I change pineapple consentrate. I used pine apple juice instead LOL, too lazy to go out to buy.... and Its was blazing hot day yesterday too.... By the your recipes are great.... 2 thumbs UP! :D
Hoison is a great condiment to have in the kitchen. I first learned about it years ago from a Vietnamese American boyfriend I served in the Navy with.
I'm going to bookmark this and give it a try. I really like prepping things the night before, to make it easier to make the meal the next day. Hawaii really has amazing food.
@ChefTips The question was could i use just boneless chicken breasts. You replied just dont cook them as long. Could you give me a rough estimate on what you would probably cook them for? I really would like to make this but am afraid to cook it for to long or not long enough. I'd appreciate the help
@Cosmicwinds Sear it for 2 minutes on each side, then move to the lower heat side of the grill and allow to cook another 5-7 minutes. You want the internal temperature to be around 160-170 F.
@hydynryk LOL, I knew the bees go through some process that people would probably find disgusting. But I just read up on it and lol, but I still love honey.
Hello ryan50ryan. Glad you already answered this for yourself.
There so many varieties and flavors from around the globe. Basically I used a Hawaiian honey because this is an Hawaiian recipe. I would think that any honey would work for this recipe.

dcelliott12 1 year ago
@dcelliott12 thats Chinese BBQ sauce
R0ck1sd3aD 1 year ago
@dcelliott12
Hello.
It's basically a thick sauce that is sweet and spicy. Made with soy beans, garlic, chili peppers and spices. It is also known as Peking sauce.
ChefTips 1 year ago
@ChefTips Hoison sauce litterally means seafood sauce in cantoness, I guess it's suppose to emulate the flavors of seafood.
