Oh I love this song and the poet... he is so dramatic (even when he says he hates to be on stage)... he should really write a book, I would buy it. I've been a fan since I was 17, so many years have passed and I still adore My Dying Bride (and Aaron of course) like day 1... haha...

I'm going to say the tuning is B-standard based on, on this song anyway, her use of the 4th fret at @2:09 , which on my five string tuned to B-standard sounds like.

@MrPierreOrdinaire They're actually in C#, I beleive she uses a five string bass simply so she doesn't have to tune down, plus she has more range.

@NovembreLaMorte I agree with you now, the guitars are in C#. But I'm positive that the 6 string she uses at this show (and the 5er she uses now) are never in C#, always B-standard, thus my jumping-to-conclusions. Range is the reasons I got my 5 string bass, so what you said makes sense but instruments on the same stage in different tunings is something I've never seen a professional (or anyone for that matter) do before.

@MrPierreOrdinaire I see it often with bands tuned to or lower than C.

Heck Necrophagist and death used to use a six string bass and they just tune to D. So go figure. :)

I bought a seven string simply for the extra range, plus I feel realy comforatble with it.

It's just easier to play a five string bass and be flexible with alternate tunings.

I honestly have no Idea what a six string bass is tuned to, I assume is EADgbe, but I could be wrong.

Standard tuning for a six string bass is (From lowest to highest): B, E, A, D, G, C.

Its 5 string B, E, A, D, G, with a high C.
