  • excellent video thanks for sharing

  • why dont you tighten down the pitch block

  • how come you didnt check the track on the pitch block?

  • Awesome video! Great job, I learned and found it very interesting!

  • Very cool, thanks for taking the time, I learned a ton.

  • Dave, you are a genius with metals - I have done pretty much the exact same damage to my bravo 3 duodrive and thought I was doomed - but with a little elbow grease (and my brother's tools-still have to find a pitch block) I might be able to do something about my bent props. your videos are excellent - keep up the great work.

  • bayliner capri 5,0 OMC repair Cobra have a look !

  • I only worked on outboards for a short time and figured out real fast that props is where it's at. Bass boat guys would spend all sorts of money on props lookin for the barest increase in speed. There is a prop repair place near me that I've heard is real hush hush about how they repair props. I thought there must be a pattern, like your pitch blocks, to judge it . Do you have to make them or are they avaliable to buy? I could enjoy this work, thanks for finally clearing up for me.

  • All that labor...the cost must be exhorbitant....a new prop must cost alot to make this laborious repair worth it.

  • Good work, Thanks for the info

  • what did you use for buffing? as in what rouge and what wheel did you use?

  • excellent work david! nice to see some people still have skills such as these rather then the modern day "if its broke, buy a new one" mentality.

curious what buff you used to polish the prop in the end... I'm a metal polisher myself but can't seem to identify it.

  • Good job David.

  • Awesome. Very nice work. Thanks for sharing.

  • very informative ^_^

  • wow awesome job

  • Hej David! thanks for sharing! Really liked your video and hope you and your company is doing well! Was looking for some tip on how to fix a johnson 1993 30 hp prop that has more like a crack on the side of one of the blades. The other two look just fine.

    But anyways, thanks for sharing!

  • The prop in this video is a Renagade prop built by OMC, These props are softer than say a Mercury, Yamaha, PowerTech prop. I do not use heat to bend the blades back out. I bend all my blades cold. Thanks for the comment.

  • Hi David, ive being repairing props for the last 12 years,bronze/stainless/alu/nickle alloy, all of them really, but would you not consider heating the blades tip carefully with propane/oxygen,i know theres rubber in the hub , but i do it very quick to avoid melting ,and with the heat it saves a great deal of time.Apart from that cool vid.

  • thats way better than buying a new prop

  • not the best work ive seen and trust me ive seen very nice work and btw that table is not stirty

  • excellent work Sir

  • Nice work! I have a few questions.

When you hammer on the pitch block, does it deform it?

How do you balance when they don't come out exactly balanced? What filler rod is that?

    Thanks!

  • WOW, your an artist! Bravo!

  • Your work is AAA, I`m in prop repair since 1990, and it`s good to see guys that know what to do with a prop without so many gizmos from today industry
