@randysony the most plausible remake would be on the DS. It has a similar, if not identical button layout the SNES had. They could even add some touch screen mechanics for accessing the inventory and junk like that.
@KonsolN There is one major composer - Yoko Shimomura. The only song made by Nobuo Uematsu in this game was during an obscure and option boss fight against Culex. Koji Kondo is listed because many of his Mario Game motifs are remixed. She made every song, remix or not.
@Spagettieater9000 Screw that. Smithy should be a playable character too. Dropping giant posts on top of players, attacking with the Smelter and hammering the liquid steel to create minions, I'd be awesome.
Down+B = Smelter (press A on liquid metal to make minions)
Final Smash = Head Omega (he rips his head off, puts it in a cauldron full of potion, it glows, he screws it back on, then the power rushes through his body as all male fighters are instant-transmissioned to way out of the boundaries, while female fighters fall asleep)
I use mario, bowser, and peach to fight smithy, peach is more useful when battling smithy because she's one of the best healers, so I don't have to waste pick me up and mushrooms.

When I was a kid I always thought Smithy was an Evil Santa Claus. Today when I replay SMRPG... Smithy still looks like an evil Santa to me XD
