Looks pretty good for not doing it everyday. For the cleaning thing, a good cleaner that you usually have lying around the house is vinegar. Just put it in a spray bottle and give it a rub with a brush and rinse it off.
looks good. I hear you at the end man. I would not want to do this for a living. I just finished a Small hearth pad under my basement wood stove. took 3 days and cut fingers. I smartened up on the 2nd day and wore heavy duty gloves. I just finished today and I see as it dries it looks white stained. I think I need to wash that off so i will try to tomorrow.
got any tips for washing it off if you don't have a hose to spray on it. lol :)
@Brians4x4Life An item you usually have around the house that is good for cleaning mortar off is just plain vinegar. Just put some vinegar on the stained spots and rub it with a brush and give it a rinse.
@bottomgunner well if its the salt then you cant remove it even with strong acid or anything...but if its mortar i think its the same problem! could try with some acid to remove but you cant get rid of the salts on the brick! :/
love the work but you said its hard to bond on them long brick like that you shouldn't have to cut no brick on the corners you had the long brick where the joint was in middle but go look at my work i have some work where i was laying them king sized brick.... looks good
In all honesty that doesn't look bad at all being done by a diy'er. Nice job. I've been laying brick for 10 years now. Been in the union for pushing 7 years.
thanks for the reply. Yeah that was my first brick project. I'm gonna try to make it my last. I'll leave it up to you experts. i don't have the patience for a job like this.
