Reading some of these comments makes me feel awesome that I'm one of the few kids today who loves this music it sucks knowing there's no one to listen to it with but also cool knowing I'm part of few so cool and elite I don't listen to nothing that aint from the 20th century (except the nineties which started sucking music wise)
Easily one of the strongest ELO songs and performances, and this is coming from a band that made a lot of great albums. I've always loved this song and I always will.
The musical talent of ELO was incredible. People don't even TRY this shit anymore. The mold has been broken. The group was such a part of my growing up in the 70s. Saw them, finally, in '82 or so. The Twilight tour. When a kid in front of us tried to stand on his chair, 10 people yanked him down. At an ELO concert, you sat and appreciated their classical sensibilities. They were one of the best bands to watch on acid, too!!
What you do is, you install a massive sound system in your car, then you cruise up to the local Maccas on a Friday night, start this song with the opera bit, then Jeff's guitar blows the roof off your car and blows the locals into next Thursday. Then you order a cheeseburger. You become Mr Cool, and women eat your Big Mac.
On the record, the opera singer starts slightly earlier than expected, then restarts, its one of those music errors left in the recording. I love ELO, my favorite band only, with the Temptations 2nd.
Absolutely one of my favorite ELO tunes (and it's damn tough to choose among all of them). Too bad most kids these days don't know good music like this, don't know what they're missing
First time I saw ELO on the midnight special. Had never heard anything like it til then or since. Its timeless.Hes a genius they all were gifted THANKS FOR ALL THE YEARS STILL GETS ME OFF!!!!!!
Now that I'm much older and really "get" this song, I really love it. It's like a combination of opera, Little Richard, and a little bit of Bob Dylan all rolled into one. Fantastic.
Great Song !!! I remember staying up late, just surfing the T.V. Stations And stopped to see this Music Program. I don't even remember what show is was back in '76
Really good I remember this from years ago.Where are ELO now?

Great...just GREAT!

Only the seventies could mix Madame Butterfly and rock in one song! Tongue-in-cheek, like most of ELO's stuff, but great nevertheless.
