the os not that bad and the office is a hell of a lot better than 2003 you can search for stuff the grapics are amazing and stuff is easier to find and isnt hidden but the 2010 version sux its just like the 2007 version except the werid logos and the weird new layout and im glad the 2007 version became the standard.

Yeah it is so shit! I have an iMac and wanted to put Vista on with Boot camp as in partitioning the hard-drive. So I do that and it won't support the MacOS X drivers which it is supposed to!!! 3rd, The kernel for video codecs, I found a bug in the kernel back when Vista came out that is not very hard to reproduce with fddshow, they makes the red green blue screw up and makes everything monocrome/techno-colored, and it hasn't been patched since.
Gaming, it could of been done for XP, actually I've played Halo2 on XP, so theres something obviously wrong there, they'd of been more respective if they made it work on XP themselves because its obvious it does work on XP
Halo 2s quality is horrifically downgraded on Xp, I have played it on it. Even though it says Only for Vista, I took it as a recomendation. It's horrible. Vista makes it all better though.

I built my pc 6 years ago. Look, any compatibilty issues can be resolved prior to installing Vista. People should prepare to install it, by downloading Vista upgrade advisor by microsoft, and Individually checking thier hardware to see if it is compatible. If your computer is out-dated enough to not be compatible, then it probally can't run Vista. The same problems happened with Xp 7yrs ago, if you don't remember.

ive used vista myself, it is a nightmare. I went and reinstalled windows XP on my laptop. *hits control alt delete* *takes about a minute to load the menu, and another minute to load the damn task manager!*

Yeah it is so shit! I have an iMac and wanted to put Vista on with Boot camp as in partitioning the hard-drive. So I do that and it won't support the MacOS X drivers which it is supposed to!!! Then the partition crashes!!! Luckily, I managed to get my hands on a copy of XP and it works perfectly so so good! So either stick to XP or use Mac cos Vista is a really terrible OS!!!

I run Vista on a Macbook pro, with parallels, and it runs smoother than XP, that's with a 2.16GHz processor, and 1GIG OF RAM. I can still use Mac while Vista is running.

Well Vista was plain failure, XP isn't that bad, plus I don't have an anti-viruses on Windows and 99% of the time have no issues at all, IE is another story, but I use Firefox, but I've tried other OS too so I'm less biased then most people, go ahead and use whatever, but anti-viruses never mean your safe, and the reason why Mac doesn't have viruses is because less people develop them for the mac, because they ain't worried about it.

1 thing would be, driver compatibility, for pretty much everything.
2nd thing would be, for sound, they made a new architect for sound that made it plain bother some to setup some sound cards.
3rd, The kernel for video codecs, I found a bug in the kernel back when Vista came out that is not very hard to reproduce with fddshow, they makes the red green blue screw up and makes everything monocrome/techno-colored, and it hasn't been patched since.

Gaming, it could of been done for XP, actually I've played Halo2 on XP, so theres something obviously wrong there, they'd of been more respective if they made it work on XP themselves because its obvious it does work on XP

Halo 2s quality is horrifically downgraded on Xp, I have played it on it. Even though it says Only for Vista, I took it as a recomendation. It's horrible. Vista makes it all better though.

Yes I have partitioned linux on my machine, also use pear pc. and I use macintosh at school. and look up directx 11 on microsoft website, then look up directx 10. nothing matches directx 11.

I built my pc 6 years ago. Look, any compatibilty issues can be resolved prior to installing Vista. People should prepare to install it, by downloading Vista upgrade advisor by microsoft, and Individually checking thier hardware to see if it is compatible. If your computer is out-dated enough to not be compatible, then it probally can't run Vista. The same problems happened with Xp 7yrs ago, if you don't remember.
