That's no Fhan Look Buab. Fhan Look Buab is an advanced move from Look Mai Muaythai. You perform Fhan Look Buab by falling below their left kick then full kicking to the right instep.
Boxing is completely Useless to fight with Muay Thai . They will get kicked in their Leg and TKO immidiately . That's why they won't allow the match between Muay Thai and Boxing .
Some Boxing Douchebags are just afraid their Sweet Science will be destroyed . They don't realize THE WORLD HAS CHANGE !!! Many people turn to Muay thai , MMA ( like UFC ) and San Shou .
ppl stop bitching about boxing. boxers gonna have an upper hand in boxing match but when its a real fight thay fighter is gonna break boxers leg in first few seconds. never mess around with thay fighter's shins
Myself having studies Muay Thai for 10 years in USA and now Thailand, I would say that establishing oneself in Muay Thai i.e. (kicks, elbows, knees and punches first) would be better than establishing a firm solitary boxing base prior. The reason for this is, in my experience those that have begun boxing first, have a very hard time incorporating kicks etc primarily becasue of the domination of the upper body. Muay Thai incorporates all from the start and developes from then on.
you're right, overall muay thai is probably better in many aspects because it's not as limited. But remember both boxing and muay thai are sport martial arts. Also keep in mind most muay thai is very much lax compared to the intensity of boxing. A good boxer could probably easily overwhelm a muay thai fighter. If you're looking for good self defense similar to this, muay boran (which predates muay thai) is much better in terms of less limitations.
@uckushtar Lax? On the contrary, Muay Thai conditioning is considered to be the hardest of all combat sports and is very explosive. Search the video of "muay thai vs boxing" to see which overwhelms which. Both are professionals in their field... the MT guy is Alexei Ignashov
lol of course a Muay Thai fighter is going to beat a boxer in a MT match. A boxer has no idea about leg kicks, their stance is totally off for leg kicks. In any case they're both great sports/martial arts and both have their benefits.
@KENRAWW as a boxer who wants to learn muay thai i can say that muay thai is more advanced but boxing is a good basic fighting style to learn before you go onto muay thai or ju jitsu
@LilShaggy82 stfu its now obvious who is stupid. i didnt said that boxing was all about stance, i jsut said that its screwing it. with boxing stance its easy as fuck to get ur knee crushed, or shin shattered....if ull fight some serious guy, not some punkass rookie
@KENRAWW Boxer wins in boxing, thai fighter wins in tha boxingi. I came from 2 years of boxing in kick boxing classes and though i did very well at 50% sparring when things got rough and the legs started flying with full power it became increasingly difficult. Your stance is as tall as possible for example and you dont come close to throw hooks like in boxing. Also you never NEVER weave as low as in boxing. After the first headkick you just adopt hehe
I'm sure some have, but Muay Thai is less dangerous in terms of brain damage than boxing. I believe boxing has more deaths. Muay Thai is more of a Bumps, bruises, cuts, and broken ribs type of fighting, body injuries.
pretty much using the part of ur body that can deal fatal damage to ur gut and the head. one reason why muay thai is one of the most fatal martial arts.

a boxer would knock you the fuck out if you tried that,

Seriously doubt that. Boxer would be lucky to even last 10 seconds let alone could escape elbow.

as far as an overall self defense system yes muay thai is better, but comparing the sports is like comparing apples and oranges.

Muay Thai consists of the 8 deadly weapons.
& the elbow is one of them.
