@XPetiePieX Actually, that's not true. A cockroach would survive nuclear radiation longer than a human, but that's because humans regenerate new cells faster than a cockroach and would therefore create new, mutated cells due to the radiation.

However, cockroaches wouldn't survive indefinitely. They do have a cycle for new cell regeneration, so they would die of the radiation after creating new mutated cells. I believe it's 30 days for them. There are insects out there that could survive longer.

The current house I live in was crawling with water bugs when we first moved in... lol, our kittehs have killed most of them since. They just play with them till they die.

LOL - my cat used to do this at night. He would chase and bat a large south Texas roach until it had lost most of its legs. Then he would gently pick it up and place it in his toy basket for later. When he wasn't looking, I would remove and flush the unfortunate creature.

Note that the bug wasn't a cockroach - it is called a palmetto bug. They look like a roach, but are HUGE, Texas-sized things. They are nasty and crunchy. They love trees and often fly in the door when you open it - has nothing to do with how clean someone's house is. (Yes, they fly!) Those kind of roaches are much smaller. (You have to live in the south to have known palmettos I guess.)
