  • that boat has balls

  • This is one of the reasons why youtube is great, share a brill idea with the world well done clever clever man.

  • where did you get the bags from? web address? many thanks.

  • very smart - congratulations on a well planned "under the bridge" - thank you for sharing. Very nice boat by the way ;)

  • I find it easier to fold down mine (27' Lugar). Did it take much practice?

  • Did you do a recon mission with a Laser measure first?

  • What is the name of the Musical score played here?

  • @anthnymnty Tchaikovsky, the waltz from Eugene Onegin opera

  • Is this the Evans Carey bridge?

  • That's Careening on the move!

  • Some idiot in a sportfisherman would pass you at 30 kts in my neighborhood!

  • One of the best displays of seamanship I've ever seen.

  • Belle combine, bravo !

  • OK, so this was probably the most amazing sailing technique I've seen yet. It well & truely does require a set of Big Balls. I'd better start taking my vitamins now... ;^D

  • I need to do the same thing with a Hunter 376. Where do I get the balls and how did you decide how much weight to use! Thanks for contributing, this was very HELPFUL

  • @davecthorson Start small and work your way up.

  • i get the physics behind it all just wonder how you get the water out of the bags is there a valve or u just plop it on the deck and spill it out slow?

  • My ship stability teacher would be amazed...

  • No...No...No! You are giving away sailor's secrets. Next thing you know, people will want to know how to get those sailing ships into those little bottles.

  • Guess we'll have to do the same thing next week to get a Hunter 30 with 47' mast under the 45' Shands Bridge on the St Johns River

  • Probably don't need 2 tons of ballast! Plan carefully

  • Just a turn to port or stbd, and centrifugal force takes care of it, followed quickly by gravity.

  • Poor boat. We correct hydroceles in early childhood, now.

  • LOL! Had to look up hydroceles. Very apt

  • adjusting for tidal levels, cos^-1 of 65/80 = about 36 degrees off vertical to make it under the bridge.... plus maybe a few more degrees for security.... :)

here's a service... an extendable crane on a small boat that could hook to the top of a mast with a cylindrical or cone-shaped cap, then winch it down towards the waterline on one side or the other until the desired angle is attained. the two go through under the bridge in tandem and then the small one unwinches the mast & gets paid

  • As someone who has sailed for years I must say....brilliant !!

  • thats magnificent very ingenious

  • Incredible!

  • amazing!

  • Thought I'd seen everything. Chutzpa, and then some! What's their next trick?

  • woohoo go David! got abit cocky though didnt we!? hows those antener??? from mikey and katy! x

  • Since depth is always an ICW concern, where can someone get those "water bags" ?? West Marines along the ICW should carry these !!

  • Saw photos but couldn't believe it till I saw your video. I would like to see how they get the balls out there.

  • that's cool.
