Arohanui (lots of love) to Rangiiria who passed recently (28/6/11). She did the percussion instruments or taonga puaroa (maori instruments) for this album. She will be dearly missed...Love you my hun!
Ka mau te wehi...awesome my nanny Huri Huri was amongst the earliest known recording of Pine pine te kura from Te Hauke, Heretaunga. On occassion Radio Kahungunu plays it...very very special lullaby calling to our mokopuna (descendants).....Lynlee Wairama Aitcheson
Mahara mihi atu, Ive been looking for Hines version of Pokarekareana, when she sang it before a Rugby game ....Anyone know? Shes the only one that can sing it..........P.s Whats up with the Ngati Hindi ?
Wow... the video is actualy slightly appropriate for the music, for this song talks about how the whakapapa (geneaology) lives on through the new generation (notice the double helix at the end?)
Unfortunately you can only find Pukaea, Kotahitanga, and Haera Ra on youtube for this group Oceania. If you like this music you can do a search on "Oceania CD" in google. If you do a plain search on the band with just "Oceania" it strangely does not display info, not even on wikipedia.
Please someone send me this lyric! I really need it!

Modern Hindi music is amazing? LMAO. Yes, Pukaea is a really authentic Hindi word. Not. Try Maori.
