@Scylla94941 In a plane yes. Few military helicopter pilots woud call it that though. I see your point though buddy, call it a joystick & risk the galling sarcasm of your colleagues! A "joystick" is an altogether piece of um, "equipment".....!
I flew UH-60N's based at Yokota and Misawa (1998-2000)...and I must say, the JSDF pilots (both helo and fixed wing) are truly remarkable people...they are very disciplined and highly skilled, and it was a joy flying joint operations with them. This is a great video and it brought back many great memories of the Kanto and Fukuoka area.
@monkey407 Hehe that's okay... it doesn't really matter who invented it. American , Russian, German or Chinese.... it will benefit mankind as a species. =D
I don't understand why they had to go down the runways like a fix wing would. They are Helicopters and should just take off and go where they want. Explain this to me? Thanks, Firecrackerpackman
Mate, all airports have designated routes in and out. This ensures the aircraft are in the best possible position in the even of an emergency during take off or landing.
@ScouttheDoggieFan yeah its nothing like cranking up the old dodge and going lol i took my first flight in a robinson heli and now i am hooked like a fish i want to learn how to fly not for a job though just for fun.
@ScouttheDoggieFan helicopters are way the hell more intensive than your little piston aircraft Mr. I havn't finished flight school. Plus what is the rush it only took a few minutes what is it supposed to take? 30 seconds, thats a good way to get killed overlooking something.
@ScouttheDoggieFan well here it looks like they just took their time.. no rush or anything... relaxing flight.. but if it were for an emergency im sure theyd probably hurry up and do things as fast as they can safely do them.
A Bell UH1H with a 212 nose. Those armour seats look different from the ones I rode in. Must be "home made". Probably has the Kawasaki T53L13 engine version. Instrument panel is different also. Sounds the same as the American original.
If you are taking off from an airport that handles fixed wing aircraft, in most cases you have to utilize taxiways and runways just like the fixed wing aircraft do, unless otherwise instructed by the flight control tower.
This is the "new" Chinese designed helicoptor....technology stealing commies

HELICOPTERS ARE TOO DAM COMPLICATED! they need 3 buttons, the joystick, start, and stop. THERE! THATS ALL YOU NEED!
TheAlbones 2 months ago
@TheAlbones How would you fly a helicopter without collective and pedals? And BTW it's stick, not joystick.
Scylla94941 1 month ago
@Scylla94941 Actually its neither - its a cyclic control. How do I know? I flew them in the Army.
kneeslider47 5 days ago
@kneeslider47 "Stick" is a common synonym for "cyclic". "Joystick" is not.
