  • ITS A SHE NOT A HE -_-

  • i grew up 90s, i learned about 911 through this show at a young age and how they were there to help 24/7, and this story here like others on the show really are examples of how families with young children can learn about 911 and how they shouldn't be afraid to call..such ashame that this show is off the air. other than that great story and ending :)

  • that kid grew balls that dad . good for him!

  • Wow!!! those kids are awesome!!!

  • @mizzjefferson do you know english?

  • Smart Kid :)

  • What a cool wee dude, well done to him.....

  • Hey I guess it had to do with the cold somehow

  • only the most irrisponsible person would do drugs while taking care of kids, she didn't but if anyone did that, it's fucked

  • no one stayed with the kids when they left?

  • this kid prob has his own kids now

  • they keep saying he fell where did he fall lol

  • yu know im not trying to make everyone mad but the girl looked like she didnt even care tht he frickin saved the girls life!!!!! and btw he was soooooo cute!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What a great boy! He is a real hero! People should give kids more credit.

  • girls: if a guy rescued you from death, would you make out with him for saving ur life (as a reward)?

  • awwwwwww :( poor boys....

  • i just want too hug that little hero

  • What a precious baby!

  • This one makes me cry =[

  • It was really irresponsible of Marissa to deprive herself of food and water. You're supoosed to listen to your body. You eat when you're hungry and drink when you're thirsty. That's just a fact. For her to ignore that was incredibly stupid.

  • Oh what a wonderful story. I cried through the whole thing.... what a smart little boy, and his parents are so proud!!!!! Way to go!!!!!

  • the boy said that they took Marissa to the hostible... :)

  • i think police shuld have a new RULE! instead of asking all these riduculis questions!! just ask : whats your adress, street you live on , and well be right there! by da time dey come to da scene everyone is dead!!! wuhts the point of calling 911?

  • that kid was smart and brave....if it was me at that age, i would've just cried and even tho I already knew about 911 by age 4, I still would've been paralyzed to even dial it...yea I know, i was a dumb kid lol

  • They remind me of my nephews, who are so cute when they're not hitting each other.

They like to have karate matches. Their dad's a karate instructor and those boys have black belts now.

  • He's so cute from the way he talked! And yes, suffering from dehydration is serious business.

  • I wonder how marrise is doing

  • Very smart boy!

  • that boy was sooo smart, mature, and cute (the ambulance bought marissa to the hostibal) lol

  • This made me cry:(

  • wat a smart little guy!

  • those two boys are soo adorable

  • omg did they leave them alone in the house after they took marissa?? :o.... -.-

  • poor kid!

  • my heart just BREAKS listening to these phone calls from kids

  • i know these are really old but i love watching them x

  • This operator is really bad. Geez.

  • 7:49

    CUTIE PIE!!!!!

  • So, when the people took the babysitter away they left the kids home alone waiting for their parents to arrive? Wow.

  • anyone know the episode that have a baby boy shot him self with his father gun

  • while calling 911 they shouldn't ask where you live like a kid would probably know that in a huge problem ;/ the cops or whatever 911 peeps should have navigation to every call. such a brave boy. :)

  • cute lisp =D hes the bestest little dude evaa

  • what a good kid

  • i miss shows like this

  • so adorable XD

  • lol "I was alot scared"

  • wow, im a baysitter and I hope and pray that the kids I babysit would do that if I were in a situation like that they would call 911.

  • see what drugs do lol :P

  • i remember my 5yo son...ohhh baby

  • That was amazing!

  • what a wonderful little boy......Bless his little soul!

  • Lesson To Learn: DON'T under-estimate a child, its better to teach him something even if u think he wont remember then to never teach him!

  • Poo Jack. He thought something bad happened to Marissa. She just didn't eat and was on a cold medicine.

  • Ahhh good memories. I love this show.

    ....mom....how I miss her....

  • aaww he did a great job

  • i feel so bad and i'm crying right now

  • Smart kid!!! Cute gal!!!

  • @ford9572 AND when that kid turns 18, he's gonna cash in that favor! eh? eh?

  • OMG this kid was sooo brave and smart i sooo want a kid like this :) omg!! hes soo cute<3 ahh i cant get over this

  • he is lucky

  • the truth is children are smarter than we think

  • @nancy207238 I agree

  • Thats a long time for help to arrive.

  • What a fantastic little boy..He even said Hostipal..shows you how young her was..But his little brain kicked in and he did a wonderful job..God Love himX

  • after what they said i shud eat more food and drink more water compared to what im doing now

  • what a brave & heroic little boy. but how did marissas's parent's get there before the childrens' parents?

  • @LMA629 maybe the boys parents called her parents before they left the 'funny bone'.

  • i wanna be a police officer in Toronto, Ontario canada its Canada's largest city!

  • know i knwo what kind of thigns i will have to do when i become a polcie offfcer

  • My friend's a police officer in a big city. Doing that would be one of the best things you do as a police officer.

  • I'm a medical student, and I just have one thing to say: Please treat people with respect. I can't stand people coming into the clinic hurt as a result of police not understanding the EMS training (if they've had it under their curriculum).

  • @pokeyoaks86 you may be a medical student--key word is student, I think you need a lot more experience in your observations, because in my 37 years experience as a nurse I have seen more police have experience to do the right thing and you implied that they don't because of your limited experience. And after you graduate, remember as long as you are in the medical field, your learning does never stop and you learn from ALL members of the health team.

  • The parents leaving the name & phone numbers of where they'd be is a thing to remember: "YOU LEAVE A PHONE NUMBER WHERE YOU CAN BE REACHED IN AN EMERGENCY!"

  • They did, but I think they never thought of anything happening to the babysitter. They'd figure if anything, the babysitter would be calling them for something or other.

  • I would also like to add, "Parents if you have a cel- phone make sure it's on." All too often my parents would go somewhere and turn their phones off. It don't do any good to have the thing if you can't be reached

  • @AFGSANFORD2 yup agreed..but its sad to say many parents these days don't even have that thought in their heads

  • omg. this kids amazing<3

  • poor kid very brave kid

  • almost happend to me once

  • WHAT A CUTE LITTLE MAN

  • Every time I watch something like this I start bawling like a banchee.

That's a smart and brave little kid there.

  • the little boy is a hero!! it was cute when he said i was alot scared.

  • This hero has Courgasesness And Bravity of a president he would make a good president when he grows up

  • Aww, that little boy is so precious. <3 I'm glad everything is okay!

  • the parents had taught the kid wel. the boy should be in his twenties now. wonder how he is now.

  • 0:45 haha a book

  • that boy is soo cute ^^ he's a hero

  • Da andulanse come bwing mawisa to the hostible!

  • Hosbebel instead of hospital. Very brave young guy! 5 years old and a hero

  • is she hot?

  • Officer Greg L. here-The officer would have stayed with the kids until the parents returned. Since they had already been notified, the officer would have stayed about another half hour to 45 minutes.

  • Bless the little boy!! He is a true hero!! :)

  • glad shes okay

  • aww its so cute when he says i was alot scared

  • the little boy is a hero

  • Its so sad when he says " I dont know, I really dont know ":(

  • I always cry at the end of these.... b/c i'm so happy that he or she is alive!

  • aww i want to give the little boy a kiss...he is a hero, i could only imagine what he was feeling at that point. Poor baby.

  • @annr8 maybe i should rescue a girl as a scared man....

  • funnybone lol

  • just wonder if they left the boys home alone after taking the melisa to the hospital?

  • Smart boy. . .

  • Wow. That young man (I refuse to call him a kid, because he acted far beyond his years) was incredible. Literally brought tears to my eyes to see such brilliance.

  • "The ambulance gonna bring Marissa to the hostable"

    x3

  • " I was alot, alot scared" those kids are adorable.

  • The cop's car was still there..

  • Who was watching the kids when the ambulance left?

  • the police

  • marissa"s father i think i didn't see him leave with everyone else

  • haha thats what i was thinking

  • What a great boy! Way to go! He really cares about his baby sitter Marissa. This little man has a friend for life.

  • Well when Marissa said in the interview, that she wished she could tell him how much she loves him and how much he means to her, I'm sure he loves her, too

  • I think it's funny that the little boy doesn't catch the dispatcher's mistake in calling Marissa a "him" (instead of a "her"). Maybe the five-year-old boy is so used to interacting with his little brother that he might just use the gender articles "he/she" and "him/her" interchangeably. That's my theory anyway. :)

  • So was she like anorexic or something?

  • No she had an alergic reaction to her cold medicine. I actually remember watching this episode.

  • always teach your kids your name number and address of where you live that was a great thing for that kid the school teach it now but it is good to teach at home that the boy was very brave

  • The boys are so cute =3 Smart little guys

  • I Used To Live In Napervile But Now I Live In West Chester.

  • Jack is so cute he is a smart kid

  • so cute and so smart

  • I not only want this show to be released on DVD, I want new episodes to air!

  • I feel bad because she keeps calling marissa Him and He lol

  • the police officer probably stayed with the kids till the parents got there

  • the poor boys..how brave and sensible

  • bless him he saved her life omg

  • Marissa is a cool babysitter

  • I can't believe no one stayed with the two little boys. Was anyone chared with criminal negigence?

  • 15 is a legal age to babysit!

  • No one stayed with the little boys? You mean like *the babysitter*?

  • I think this person means after "the babysitter" was incapable of babysitting and was taken to the hospital =/

  • its kind of weird how nobody even cared for the kids

  • this made me cry..that little boy was such a hero! I only hope my 4 year old would think to call 911 in an emergency.

  • it's never to late to teach your child how to act during an emergency. you know that children soak up information really well. one day your little boy could be a hero too :)

  • aww bless the kid

  • amen, can you believe that little

    guy is now 22.

    whatever happened to good tv...

  • wow 22!!his my age now hehe i wonder if i was as cute as him lol

  • at 4:16 i had lost it LOL!!

  • Yes, you make sure the scene is safe.

I've been doing this so long, it's second nature for me to check the scene first.

It's like when I was teaching my daughter to drive. A lot of things I did as second nature weren't so for her. I had to go back and remember everything I'd learned in Driver's Ed.

  • I take it back, I meant when he said "Seeing her laying there unresponsive like she was, it was starting to get tough" I thought that sounded harsh

  • Triage is tough.

When you have a multiple casualty incident (MCI) where several people are hurt, and you have to treat Person A but Person B ends up dying, it gets tough right away. Treating an unresponsive teenager is easier than treating patients according to triage rules,

I've worked in Emergency Medicine for 15 years, and that part hasn't gotten easier.

  • now a days when u call 911 the address comes on the scanner thingy.

  • I live right by naperville I am wondering how Marissa is doing

  • i didnt like this episode, they didnt describe what she did or what happened before she collapsed, all of a sudden the kid just calls 911 for no reason and you find the girl on the floor, they wait till the end of the episode to tell you that she had a cold and was allergic to the cough medicine she had taken prior.

  • I'm a Paramedic. The way to handle this type of emergency is to see if the person's breathing, check the pulse in his neck and look for bleeding. Tell the 911 dispatcher what you find.

If he's breathing, has a pulse & isn't bleeding, yell his name and see if he responds. If not, see if he responds when you press two of his fingers together; do this hard but not TOO hard. Then tell the 911 Operator whether or not he responded.

You can copy this information in case you need to use it some day.

  • haha whostayed with the kids when everyone left lol

  • Wow bless his heart! Smart little boy! :) How did Marissa's parents find out something was wrong? They got there before the little kids parents did.

  • the dispatcher's DAMN HOOOOOOOT!

  • At 8:10 the baby in the left down corner with sunglasses looks really cute! :3

  • lol..the kid is cute. howpsital.hehe

  • i love it when it's the end of every episode and everybody's ok and they're all fine now.

    haha

  • That does not hapan in episode 227

  • what happens in 227?

  • In episode 227, a pilot has a heart attack and his wife has to land the plane, a toddler is scalded by hot grease, and a raccoon gets it head stuck in a tree limb.

In the pilot heart attack segment (titled "Terror in the Sky"), the wife was able to safely land the plane and save herself and her friend, but the pilot was dead from the heart attack by the time they landed.

  • @allgood2000 do you have the toddler one, that segment is the reason i won't let my kids in the kitchen EVER!

  • @xYANKxINxOZx Yes, it's called "Baby E.J.'s Burn"

  • Is that same kid who played in "Rescue 911 Episode 121- 911 3-year old"? it looks a lot like him...

  • LOL! No becuase these kids r not actors. They use the real people & kids involved in the actual emergencies. So he just looks like the other kid. :) He is cute. :)

  • i think the better question is why did they have a non-rebreather if she wasnt breathing? ABC!!! airway breathing and circulation. airway open and maintain airway in hercase i would say head tilt chin and then OPA BVM.

  • That little boy is so cute. He reminds me of my nephew.

  • what city did they film william shatner when he did the narrations like the one at

    0:09-0:20 ?

  • I think it was Huntington Beach, California.

  • Who stayed with the kids when the Ambulance left ? ? lol

  • I was wondering the same thing, since Marissa was taken to the hospital, someone had to stay with the kids

  • They probably got a neighbor or someone they probably just didn't show it.

  • yea it's usually a cop that goes with the ambulance to the seen, but they wouldnt have put all that into the reinactment b/c it doesnt really have anything to do with the actual point of the story.

  • I'm guessing the police officer would have stayed until the parents came home, or he would have made arrangements for someone to stay with them.

It wouldn't look good for the police department if one of their officers left a 3- and 5-year old home alone.

The officer would have stayed until the parents came home.

The parents most likely returned after they were called. That's what I'd do if my daughter's babysitter had gotten sick.

  • My heart breaks whenever I hear a young child's crying, frightened voice talking to the 911 dispatchers. I wanted to hold that little boy when he was on the phone, especially when he was crying. Very smart, and brave child! Sometimes, I really think children are more brave than adults. That's just my opinion.

  • how come they never show the victim in the interview??

    plz respond

  • They do at end. I guess if they show the victim before the end, it gives it away that they survived.

  • thats a real smart kid

  • this made me cry

  • As a kid, I never knew these were reenactments...

  • What are the tones you hear before 911 picks up? Is it the DTMF tones?

  • I believe that these are actually MF tones. Similar to DTMF but also different. The tone after 911 picks up is a 2600 hertz supervision tone. In other words this is pretty old technology, however some 911 lines "trunks" still use MF instead of newer digital technology.

  • Dies anyone know what parts if any, were cut out of this?

  • that adorable kid there is very smart

when i was his age,I NEVER LEARNED HOW TO USE THE PHONE!

    lol very impressive kid :D

  • me either lol

  • lol

i didn't learn to use the phone in till i was in 3rd grade i think? O___o

  • this is such a touching video:)

  • that means the baby sitter like 35 or 40
