And if you go the spikes, it's endless. Choose Heaven or Hell. Only Hell (the spikes) allows just about endless timelines of the first level. Press escape to get out of hell (the spikes ending).

Just out of interest, I played through the whole boss level twice, to see what each ending led to.

The Spike ending led to a grainy, black and white Hell where you jump on spikes for all eternity. Very depressing.

It was so bad I felt I had to go back and beat the game a third time, just so the guy wouldn't have to suffer.
